Plot

Outlaw Star follows the outlaw Gene Starwind and his eleven year-old business associate, Jim Hawking. Together they run a small jack-of-all-trades business on the backwater planet Sentinel III. After the two take a job as bodyguards for a mysterious outlaw, they find themselves the owners of the XGP15A-II, a highly advanced prototype spacecraft, and the caretakers of a bio-android named Melfina. Through the course of the series, the crew grows to include the assassin "Twilight" Suzuka and Aisha Clan-Clan, a Ctarl-Ctarl and former Ambassador of the Ctarl-Ctarl Empire.

Characters:

Born on Earth, Gene Starwind (ジーン･スターウインド Jīn Sutāuindo?) was a young man who developed a fear of space flight and a hatred of pirates during an attack when he was 15 that resulted in his father's death at the hands of a band of mercenaries led by Ron MacDougall. Gene was thrown into an escape pod by his father moments before their ship exploded and landed on Centinel III where he would remain until the beginning of the series.

The eleven year-old James "Jim" Hawking (ジム･ホーキング, Jimu Hōkingu?) is the business partner and sidekick of Gene Starwind. He is the son of a famous computer hacker known as the "Computer Wizard." How he met Gene is unknown. Jim serves as the team's computer expert, hacker, strategist, and back-up. He is responsible and concerned; he worries about the team's finances and plans, prefers to earn money the hard way rather than to take risks, and is often annoyed by Gene's lazy and cavalier attitude.

Melfina (メルフィナ, Merufina?) is a bio-android created by Professor Gwen Khan using ancient biotechnology found within the Grave of the Dragon ruins. The complexity of the information was so vast that even a great mind like his couldn't understand it all. Some time after she was created, both Melfina and the Outlaw Star were stolen from the Kei pirates by the outlaw Hilda who intended to use them to find the Galactic Leyline. Melfina's appearance is of a petite and slender young woman with shoulder length black hair and large brown eyes. While her physical age appears to be seventeen, her real age is that of only two. She has no recollection of her past or why she was created, which very often troubles her throughout the series.

Aisha Clanclan (エイシャ･クランクラン, Eisha Kurankuran?) is a female Ctarl-Ctarl officer. She is a dark-skinned catgirl with a very large appetite and the strength of ten men and (in episode 5, she claims to be immortal). As all Ctarl-Ctarl, Aisha can assume a beast form that grants her tremendous strength but consumes enormous amounts of energy, depending on whether there is a full moon on the planet she is on. In her particular case, she turns into a massive tiger of sorts. Aisha was originally in charge of locating the Galactic Leyline for the Ctarl-Ctarl Empire, but after she unknowingly allowed for Hot Ice Hilda to escape, her government ordered her to stay behind on Blue Heaven to look for clues as punishment. Aisha finds out that Gene Starwind is connected to Hilda and tries to pump him for information; however, Gene knows nothing of the Galactic Leyline.

"Twilight" Suzuka (黄昏の鈴鹿, Tasogare no Suzuka?) is a female Ultra Class A assassin who only kills when the sun is setting. Her preferred weapon of choice is a bokken, or wooden sword, which through secret, semi-mystical swordplay can be used to slice metal like a cleaver and smash concrete, yet on the next stroke will land only a knockout blow on her opponent. She first appears when she tries to kill Gene Starwind's friend Fred Luo as part of her contract with a rival weapons seller.

The XGP15A-II, christened the Outlaw Star by Gene and his crew, is "the fastest, most advanced ship in the galaxy." It was constructed by the Kei space pirate guild using connections with the Space Forces military. Powered by four plasma fusion Unsen engines and a powerful Münchhausen reactor for use with its "sub-ether" faster-than-light drive. In addition, it is a "grappler ship," a spaceship with manipulator arms modified for combat purposes. It is designed so that the Bio-Android Melfina, who was created by the scientist Gwen Khan, can link up with and control the navigational systems. This was intended for the sole purpose of navigating the Galactic Leyline.

I had no idea OS was a Manga. Where can I read it?

That's what i'm trying to find. Wiki said it was, so i'm not a 100% sure that it is a manga

I 'v e been trying to find a site that has the Godannar Manga but have n 't been successful. I missed out on buying the Mangas on-line late last year. Oh well.

Hopefully, the Manga will pop up someday.

I have all the eps. on my computer but i think i'm going to go out and buy the box set soon enough

I don't remember the songs, it's been awhile since i've seen the eps. Work and life haven't given me the time that i want to watch these.

But it was like one of the first animes that i watched. It was such an awesome show, i'm not really sure why it didn't keep going

B/c CartoonNetwork is cheap like that. They canceled a lot of good Animes imo.

Well Cartoon Network finished the anime if i remember right.

What i don't understand is why the creators didn't create more seasons.
