Okay, here it is:

Sig Rating the Right Way

Because of frequent useless ratings, (and because Tech made this thread and I lost my old topic) I've decided to make this guide.

Things You shouldn't do when rating a sig:
1. Say 6/10 and leave it at that.
2. Say "Looks good" and nothing else.
3. Say "Thats total crap" and nothing else.
Doing the above doesn't help the person looking for ratings improve at all. If you want to help the person, tell them what looks good, and what could be improved on.

For example, the following sentence(s) would be useful to the gfx maker:
"I like your bg, but the stock could use some work. The placement and blending dont look good to me. However, I like your typo and the overall sig looks good. 7/10"
Another thing that wouldn't help at all would be something like:
"OMG that looks like tottally 1E37 dude! So awesome OMG LOL LOL. You pwn!"
That doesn't help the sig maker, it would just annoy the heck out of everyone else.

Now, advice for the sig maker:

If you cant take criticiscim, then stop making gfx.
If you want to progress and improve, listen to what people have to say, and try to keep in mind their advice when working on your next project. If you filp out and start a flame war, nothing good will come of it. Another thing you shouldn't do is compare your sig to the sig of a rater.

If he/she gives you a bad comment, dont say something like:
"Well, your sig sucks so dont talk to me."
It's not their sig that's being rated, but yours.

All in all, just use common sense and try to give good advice when commenting on someone else's work.

The End

Tech has more to say as well:

-Notice if you're getting a negative comment from someone its just their honest opinion , you can't expect everyone to like you're work at times so dont be so suprised if you catch a negative comment.
-Don't post your work out there for rating if you cant accept good/bad commenting .
-Remember just because your work looks good to your eye it doesnt mean it looks good to everyone else , its called viewers appeal .

On another note , people rating sigs can be lighter with giving negative comments , you dont have to be a prick about it =p.

just a couple of things to think about i guess .
So n00brz, read this guide and stop freakin out! xD
