Here's the NarutoMania GFX interview for the month of October! This month I decided to interview none other than _cid. We all love the tags he used to make and his style, so I hope you enjoy the interview. =]

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
There's not much to tell. 21, graphic art student, at the moment I smell like awesome, and look like shit.

How the hell did you get that forum name?
I dunno. If I could change it myself I'd have a different one every time I logged in.

How did you discover the world of art and when did you get into it?
Well...my mom was always the artsy one. She used to do a lot of painting in highschool and college. Still does. She painted mine room when I was a kid so I guess watching her rubbed off on me. The furthest back I can remember is me tracing pictures of Garfield the cat when I was about 5 or 6. I think my mom still has those lying around somewhere. I was always horrible at drawing. Still am.

What do you like to do when you’re not online?
Most of the stuff I do, I don't like. Except for drinking, and fucking.

How long have you been a member of NM?
Join Date: 05-04-2005

How did you find out about NM?
I'm not sure. I think I found you guys through some piece of shit backwater forum with members that liked to rip people's tags, post them up for battles, and think it was so cool that they won with other people's work?

What's your thoughts on the graphics section on NM, and NM in general?
It's slowly dying unfortunately. I can so that it has seen great days. A lot of hot shit has come out of here. I'd name names but I don't want anyone to feel left out.

Do you think the gfx section has gotten worse or better over these past years?
If you mean by quality of the work posted, I'd say it hasn't changed much. The determination and competition has left the building though...which really sucks.

Did you learn a lot from the gfx section?
Yeah. I learned that gfx is overrated. Fun....but completely overrated.

Did a lot of people help you out when you first joined NM?
Honestly I don't remember. That was a really long time ago.

Why do so many people look up to you in the graphics section?
I had no idea. I don't think they look up to me and if they do I had no idea.

What other forums do you go to besides NM?
ACF.net and Tagmonkey.

What do you think of the NM regulars?
I'm suprised they're still around. Seriously...get a fucking life. Just kidding. For the ones I've met I love em. Everyone else can just fuck off.

What programs did you use?
Photoshop. Illustrator.

Who/What inspires you to make gfx?
Everything. Sometimes I'll see something when playing with my dog outside or driving down the road though and that makes me want to do something creative. Music can help, but not much...only when I'm high which I'm not anymore.

Are you happy with the skill level you left off with or dissapointed?
I've never really "left off". I've always been doing something whether it was drawing or fucking around on the PC.

You had a hot styles back in the day that everyone was loving and jockin' what kind of stuff did you use to create those tags?
I used a lot of textured stock imagery and vectored images too.

What are your future goals in life?
Navy Seal. Should be doin that soon.

Do you have any advice for the other people on NM who do gfx?
Yeah. Don't go into the industry. It's full of bullshit and just not worth it.

where are your principles? esp. the american army?
I always wanted to fly an Apache, they still kick ass, but honestly if I would now go in the army I'd stab the first best Sergeant in the chest that dares calling me a piece of shit. 'Bove all you're just a pawn of the government.

And if at all, it's still Air Forces >> Navy > Land

The graphic design thing isn't working out too well right now, especially with school. (Teachers and curriculum=teh suck)
Besides. The military can pay for me to go to a real school with real teachers that will teach me something I really want to do. I can't afford that right now.
I mean it's not that bad. If I'm lucky I'll be blowing shit up under water and jumping out of airplanes. Possibly learn a foreign language too. I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Anyways, ok I understand the money part because your schools are insanely expensive. But the thing is, it's not just "going in, having fun, going out". People actually change into nasty persons in the army. I thought you were better than that.
But hey it's your choice and I'm just some words on your monitor, I don't know you. So go, if you think it's a good choice.
I just don't agree with "how cool and funny and easy" it is. Remember you are on call for years after you leave. And pray the new US president won't make another useless war.
