After I have read the entries, i'll tell you why I chose that topic!!! I'm looking forward to read yours!!

As promised:
have you ever woken up in the middle of the night, hungry? Dead hungry? Feeling like you could eat a whole beef? with horns? I've been there...
Have you ever walked silently down the stairs, careful not to hit anything with your feet, not wanting to wake your mother at 1ham? have you ever made your way safely to the kitchen, sighed, reached for the switch, turned the light on and stared right at a huge, dark brown, shiny, gross cockroach? have you stood there, frozen, listening to the dry metallic sound of its elytres, waiting for the instant it launched itself into the air? Hell yeah, I've been there...
have you ever gone back to bed with your stomach empty, because of your fear or roaches? Well, I've been there and I've done that.
this is why I chose that subject.

Just a question about this week's contest topic, if people are struggling for inspiration or think that the topic is too specific let me know and I'll change it. "Far from the Madding Crowd" is a Thomas Hardy novel and is one of the well-known classical pieces of literary history.

I just thought it'd be interesting to see what takes on the idea we can get but if everyone's struggling I'll gladly think of something else. Please do let me know.

Quick advice guys, for the short story competition. Please keep in mind that stories have beginnings middles and ends =). I'll edit my first post with this too.

Oh and if you'd like to judge PLEASE let me know
