Welcome to the Macross Frontier FC!

Anime:

Macross Frontier, also known as Macross F, celebrates the 25th anniversary of the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross TV series (1982~1983), and is a direct sequel to Macross 7 (1994~1996). This third TV series features the U.N. Spacy's latest main variable fighter, the VF-25 and a new spaceship called the Macross Frontier.

On the Macross timeline, the story is set on the year 2059. The series features the 25th colonial fleet, dubbed the Macross Frontier, en route near the galactic center.

During a mission to an unexplored asteroid belt, a reconnaissance VF-17 is destroyed by powerful & fast insectoid biomechanical alien mecha, which immediately begin their attack on the rest of the fleet. Not being able to stop the new enemy threat, the U.N. Spacy forces authorize the deployment of an organization called S.M.S., which utilizes the new VF-25 variable fighter to destroy the alien menace.

Manga:

There also appears to be a Macross F manga that is released monthly from Shounen Ace. Raw scans for the first issue, released in December 2007, can be found here. I haven't found any scanlations, cleaned copies or subsequent chapters. If anyone has info, feel free to post and I'll update accordingly.

Banners are presently in the works and I hope to have something up for everyone to add to their respective collections in the near future. If anyone else would like to put something together, feel free to do so!

Welcome Yoshitsune! I hope you continue to find it intersting as it progresses. If you find you do like it, there's a wealth of history I'm sure you're finding out that would be well worth your time. I personally highly recommend Macross Plus. Great OVA that really gets into some of the Macross themes. Cheers!

My goal here is that the Members make of this FC what they want. I've got no issues with picking a character - in fact, and in part because even the main characters are still being developed, if people want to choose characters from other Macross series', you all are more than welcome in my book.

Any interest among the few early members as well as those that join in entering the All FC Picture contest? I think Macross Frontier could have a serious shot at taking it all if we decided it was a good idea.

Thanks, that's the best quality of that pic I've seen. Someone did a good job cleaning it. The blue plane in the background looks A LOT like the YF-21.
