Man that ref sure has some balls. It's not that the yellow cards given were incorrect but you don't see a lot of refs give that many yellow & red cards :6:. What was going through van Bastens mind when he decided to leave Kuijt that long in the match. Kuijt wasn't in the match the whole 90 minutes.
Holland played poorly, I feel sorry for the strikers. They had no back up from the midfield. The space between the forwards and the mid field was to big. When Robben/Persie/Kuijt got the ball they didn't have any back up. There was at least 10 to 20 meters of room between the mid field and forwards. That's why all Holland could do was shoot from distance.
Portugal deserved to win IMO, though I was rooting for Holland.

^How did Portugal deserve to win??... They scored a goal yes but for the rest Holland was dominating almost all of the game (Especially the 2nd half)... Now i don't know the exact numbers but the ball pocesion was atleast 60% - 40% for Holland and i may be wrong but it was something like 20 - 9 shots on goal for holland... A well... We play bad and we win... We play pretty good and we loose...

But don't give me shit like they deserved to win cause they didn't with the play they showed (I may be biased saying this but i don't care)

Okay... No one deserved to win that match, Portugal was lucky, they won. It doesn't matter if they didn't deserve it, they were the ones to score, meaning they were the most skilled ones. So stop whining. What annoyed me was 4 red cards and 16 yellow cards were delivered out. There was like 25-30 active play minutes in the 2nd half.

Portugal should've won the EC.

The only good chance holland had was Cocu's shot on the cross bar. I don't even call van Persie shot a chance. How the hell are you gonna score when you shoot with the outside of your foot. The ball go's away from the goal that way you fool (nice dribbling though). Holland didn't have even 1 really played out chance. They were just despirately shooting from a distance. At least Portugal scored a good goal. I was for Holland don't get me wrong but they played really weak today. BTW that 60% ball possession doesn't mean shit when you don't become dangerous. All they did was play it safe. If you want to get dangerous you gotta play more like Argentina, look at how they play the ball around 20 times or so without the other team touching the ball and then they managed to score too. That's what I call ball possession.

England lucky with Beckham freekick (don't forget Lampard wasted lot of chances)...
Portugal won against mighty Holland...

Argentina always likes to kick the ball around abit. It's there way of getting "into" the flow of the game (Brazil does it too. Must be a South American thing).

Ok, i don't know how it is in soccer, since i'm not really a soccer fan at all..but the team that scores, is the team that deserves to win...

That's really what I hate about soccer..I can't never tell when it's supposed to be a great match, or who's playing better.

In other sports, if you score you deserve to win, and if your opponent does not score, it isn't luck..it's defence. Your team kept your oppenent's team from scoring.

Well, i really don't get soccer..I'll never get a sport where they consider an 0-0 game, a great game.

Think of soccer as an art mixed into a sport. PPl watch it to see some beautiful gameplay, as well as to get the familiar adrenaliny-suspense feeling of sports. Maybe that'll make more sense

that was quite a match that portugal won, but they will be missing some key players for the next one, esp. from those two red cards.

If you look at this last game, it wasn't that portugals defense was super good, holland got through and shot on goal plenty of times, but the ball wouldn't go in.
