| Administrator | In the future you will be warned for spam for posts like this. As for the animal, it is most certainly real.

![]() but anyways, interesting specimen, seems to be an incredibly deep sea squid that floats just above the bottom, dangling it's tentacles downwards to catch prey. As much as i disagree with the use of oil and oil companies, they do push through research at much faster speeds because of the amount of money backing them. Drilling tech has greatly advanced in the past years because of them, and apparently they're making quite a few deep sea discoveries.

Hey, i was preparing for my college and eating my tea at the same time, i was hardly spamming. But i'm really not seeing the big achievement or anything. Yeah, it's knew and it's good that we've discovered something else about our waters/world, but what can it really do? However, could this squid of possibly been around a few hundred years ago and be blamed for SOME stories of giant squids since giant squids were rare, even back then?

I WANT TO BELIEVE. Just shows you how scary the ocean is. You don't know what the fucks down there. There could be some Cloverfield shit down there and we'd never know.

I thought this thread was about Elk. But seriously that thing is freaky I remember seeing a show on the bbc about deep sea creatures they had what looked like a giant woodlice or is it woodlouse, deep sea discovery has really been put on the back foot and if oil companies get the ball rolling it's good to see. I reckon we should all go out and buy a full tank of petrol and just drive around town celebrating and supporting deep sea discoveries. Last edited by PurpleSheep; 02-12-2008 at 10:58 PM. |

OH wow looks freakylish alien but I really am curious to know more about this squid. I'm glad that I read in this article that marine biologists are partnering up oil companies to study marine animals like this squid that we know so little about.

Seen this the other day on CNN, those are some long ass tenticles. Only like 2% of the occean has been discovered. So much unknown out there, this sparks the interest and demand for occean exploration even more.
