i need a pc monitor that supports HDMI so that i can hook up the xbox to it. (to lazy to buy a pc monitor AND a tv) the thing is that i now have no idea on what to do with the speakers. my current choices are the Samsung t240 T240 LCD monitor - monitors SAMSUNG and this LG m228wa LG M228WA - LG Global Site i'd rather have the samsung mainly because it's bigger and cheaper but then i have no idea on how to set up the speakers and i don't want to fuck with them too much every time i want to use the x-box. so basically, can these two be hooked up to the xbox or am i too tired and am missing something? if yes then what do i do about the speakers in the samsung? (i think the lg has build in speakers) need this by like tomorrow.

Looks like the Samsung monitor is the only one that supports 1080p.

Buy from Newegg.com You will save a ton of money. You dont technically need a HDMI compatable monitor to play 1080P off your 360. Just get this Xbox.com | Xbox 360 - Xbox 360™ VGA HD AV Cable and it will work on any monitor. Just saw this one on newegg looks very good for the price. Newegg.com - ASUS VH226H Black 21.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen 16:9 Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 12000 : 1) Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors Or if you are interested in just samsung take a look at these Newegg.com - 2ms-3ms, SAMSUNG, LCD Monitors, Monitors, Computer Hardware |

I only ordered it so far, haven't gotten it yet. I doubt my high opinion of it will change after I get it, but I hesitate to put my personal stamp of approval on it before then.

meh, not really interested in buying online. the samsung i linked is the one i'm looking in to more but again, no idea on how thew hookup works. the hdmi cable doesn't have anything to to with sound right? so i have to hook the regular x-box cables audio output to something? i'll look in to that dvi cable because if i can find/order it here then i'll just buy a regular screen.

HDMI is both Hi-def Audio and Visual and you really should consider buying online, you can save hundreds of dollars.

Hook it up with what? DVI? HDMI? OR VGA If its VGA or DVI you'll have to hook up the audio through a external speaker. I know for a fact that the VGA xbox 360 cable comes with a RCA audio cable with a adapter for regular speaker audio jack.

the easiest thing for me to do would be to have some headphone plug so that i can just unplug my speakers from my pc and hook them up to whatever the fuck xbox/my new monitor offer me. but i'll take anything that won't make me switch cables for 20 minutes at this point.

So, I got my monitor today, and it is easily the finest monitor I've ever had the good fortune of using.

and i've got mine, and now have to deal with pure awesomeness. everything i needed. just great. it's still abit bright for me even after taking the brightness down to 0 but i'm sure i'll figure it out. played some gears already, so many pretty pictures. the only annoying thing is that theres a very small, very random twitch on the screen when im in the pc mode, whenever it's in HDMI it's all good though. i'll try moving things around so maybe it's a random fuckup due to the speakers being to close (doubt it) but any advice is really welcome.

edited the post, the twitch is pissing me off somewhat.... i'm thinking that it might be the driver? where can i update the drivers for the samsung 22a450? at the moment i have the "default monitor on nvidia geforce 6600" which clearly isn't the case? edit: ok so i switched to maximum resolution and so far, no twitching, but my eyes will be fucked by the end of tomorrow... help me fix this?

I've experienced slight "twitching" before when running games in windowed mode. Playing in full screen fixed the problem for me. You shouldn't need a driver for a monitor unless the monitor has some interface that will affect the computer. I'd suggest updating your video card driver instead if you haven't done so already.
