Mirror's Edge is an upcoming first-person action-adventure video game that is being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows-based PCs. The game will be released on these platforms simultaneously in late 2008.
The game was announced by Electronic Arts on July 10, 2007 and will be powered by the Unreal Engine 3 with the addition of a new lighting solution, developed by DICE. The game has a realistic, brightly-coloured style and differs from other first-person perspective video games in allowing for a wider range of actions—such as sliding under barriers, tumbling, wall-running, and shimmying across ledges—and greater freedom of movement, in having no HUD, and in allowing the legs, arms, and torso of the character to be visible on-screen.
The game is set in a conformist dystopia in which communication is heavily monitored by a totalitarian regime, and so a network of runners, including the main character, Faith, are used to transmit messages while evading government surveillance.

This is the company that makes Sweden proud in the games market. They've done good games so far and this game will certainly be as good as before if not even better.

I really like how they trash the assassins creed theme of playing when doing the Parkour moves. It looks so more interactive and only the thing that you hear the woman breath is incredible. And the standards of not having arms and legs in games is so normal that it feels much more different having them flying around when jumping. I'm so going to play this game when it comes out. One thing I'd wish for is more freedom when it comes to storymode. They say it's going to be much straight forward and it troubles me. But it's better to have a small limitation compaired to Assassins creed where it was repitive and the freedom made the gamer over feeded.

Looks like a game I'd have fun with.... I did notice at once point a lack of detail on her left hand... it looked like her fingers had fused into a single object with a bit of "shadow" but between each finger...

This game looks spectacular. Of all the games to be released this year this game looks the most stunning. Maybe its the bright pallet of colors.

Trouble for meis that I now own both a 360 and a PS3. This game will no doubt be more refined experience. But I also want the achievement points. Guess I'll buy the ps3 version then rent the 360 version.

This game does look great, I really hope that it is as intuitive and fluid as the previews show it to be.

I am getting the same feeling from this game as I did from shadow of the colossus. A game that has a new take on an old concept with stunning visuals.

Was reading up on this game in an EGM today, and I must say I'm rather impressed with where they are taking this game. I mean I've always thought of what a good concept a parkour based game would be, and they had kinda played with the idea of interactive free running in Assassin's Creed, but still hadn't fully exploited it. In the article, it appears that they are going all out with this one. Sounds like alot of freedom for one game, and I'm deffiently looking forward to the release.
