Men's 400m finals today, waqo do you know what time that will be around? I don't want to miss it, but I'll be out again this evening.

I think the 400m final is any minute now!!! followed by the 110m hurdles final Lashawn Meritt wins in a big surprise!! He just stormed down that final stretch!

Wow, looking at the times Wariner was lucky to even place. Ugh, I was afraid this was going to happen. Wariner hardly did any races this year, and I couldn't understand why.

Wariner buckled in the final 100m and didn't force the issue in the 3rd 100m either. Respect for David Neville, good effort from him to dive and claim the bronze (somewhat comically actually =D)

Was wariner 43.74 or 44.74? The official olympics website says 44.74 Which is pretty slow for J |

It was 44.74, 43.75 was the winning time by Lashawn. Dunno if you've watched it now but he just didn't get going at the end, he seemed fatigued.

That's regretable. Considering that Wariner has ran faster than the winning time. But like I said, he did not run a lot of races this past year. The first 3 years after Athens he was running all the time, and getting better and better. I thought he had a chance to crack the World Record. This loss might be good for him though, maybe he will train a lot harder now. Michael Johnson has proven to be beatable by Bolt. |

Isn't Johnson involved in mentoring Wariner? That sweep of the 400m helps the US break away in the overall medal count (to the relief of US TV Networks showing them as Number 1 in the medals table =P) but China shall be back in with a few in the coming days. A big shock in the men's field hockey as Spain come back from 2-0 down to beat the hockeyroos 3-2!! They will meet Germany in the final as they downed the Dutch on penalty strokes. China will face the Netherlands in the women's final tomorrow. It's 0-0 and extra time in the women's football final between the US and Brazil. Germany won the bronze earlier.

Wow. If there was one gold that I thought the U.S. would get without any doubt, it was the women's softball one. Great effort by Japan.

That sucks, Heard about the baton drops from both teams, was it a foolish and childish mistake for them to of drop it? Or just too quick that they couldn't keep an eye on the baton? They just put too much hype on Tyson Gay hoping for him to do the best in the track. On the 110m hurdles, I was hoping for Dayron robles to beat Liu Xiang's olympic record of 12'91 but he only got 12'93... ughh. Last edited by fayewong; 21-08-2008 at 06:31 PM. |

Jamaica got another gold and bronze today in womens 200m final. I am shocked to hear all this news about U.S dropping batton, and stepping on the line. I heard it on the radio at work as well, I'll watch it all tonight. edit Quote:
baaaaakA! We still have Asafa, and he is capable of going under 9.90 sec, even 9.80 sec. Yes Bolt is not alone, but we can just make him smoke everyone first and then its all gravy. I hope you guys get silver though, thats the most I can say for Trinidad, rep the caribbean. See you on the battlefield, lol. Last edited by San Goku; 21-08-2008 at 10:16 PM. | |

IOC is starting to investigate on the Chinese girls. International Olympic Committee launches probe into He Kexin's age - Times Online Imo, it's about time. It's ridiculously obvious that the girls are underage, and the one girls they were investigating on, wasn't even in China's database. Just removed. Now let's see if the IOC actually accomplish their investigation. |

If I was a U.S gymnastics, finding out that I got beat by little kids would just add insult to injury, I think on tv they said she might be 14.
