PS3 Discussion Thread

After knowing the Wii is only twice as powerful than the GC, I decided that I'll get the GC as an old school system when it drops it's price again. I'm kind of stingy and the game's list on the Wii has'nt made me go "OMFG" for it.

I think I'll start to just wait out systems to a supreme price drops and then buy them and hell I'll even wait for the DS to drop even furthur. (gives more time to save up more cash ).

Other than that, i hate the ps3, its getting overhyped so much.

1 blu-ray disk at the moment cost 40$ i dont think anyone cares due to its high cost. its like have 6 gb of ram, even if you did its still pointless for the next 4-6+ years? most program run excellent at 1gb and its been this way since xp came out.

your saying "oh they are forcing us to buy the blu-ray crap and we don't want it, and it's expensive so forget the ps3"

obviously you don't want it if you are comlaining about it that much so whats the use

No, but it's not for harmonious agreement, either. Discussion implies that there are going to be both agreements and disagreements. If people are only discussing the positives, it's not a discussion; it's dick-riding.

Seriously though, it's too damn expensive, and the games are not appealing. Much rather get a Wii.

It's 400k. Still, I'll wait to see sales numbers before calling anything a flop.

Apparently only about 200K of that amount actually came.

Yea, I'll be getting a PS3 eventually, but I'm always paranoid about the problems that plagues the launch batches. I also agree that the success of a console has to do alot with the games and there's no games I *need* to have at this point.

In actuality, I probably won't be seriously tempted to pick up a PS3 until FF13 launches and hopefully Sony will have fixed all the hardware and softward problems by then. >.<

I'll admit that the graphics are completely stunning, but...eh I really don't see myself owning a PS3 unless:

1. The price comes down....at least $200
2. They make better/more games *cough*Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Guilty Gear XXX *cough*

graphics do not determine how good games are. the sega dreamcast which was a very poweerful system for its time, proved that very well by dying after 1 year (it had WAY better graphics than the ps2). im not saying it'll happen to the ps3 but some people might end up disapointed because the ps3 at the moment has only about 200k units in north america and the production cost is hurting sony bad. we'll just have to see how they pull through in the end.
