You can do the former, but not the latter. Word is, there is an european coder who got her hands on a ps3 dev kit and made a iso loader for the ps3, but have not release it yet.

The coder claims that she will release it when the ps3 is available in Europe or when an awesome game comes out.(MGS4, DMC4) To avoid Sony from releasing the ps3 in Europe with a higher and more protected firmware.

Excellent news. As soon as the come out with a loader or alt firmware I'll be the first one to test it...with a XMB interface this is about to have a ISO loader sooner or later. Sooner or later I'll be able to upload games from my laptop to my PS3 just like my PSP lol
The only problem I have now is that I have to upload all my PSX and PS2 saves to the hard drive of the PS3....but luckly for me they have adapters you can buy...plus they're only $14 so it's not that bad...I did'nt play with it much yesterday cause I had stuff to do but once I setup the internet connection and go online it's on like popcorn.

the shitty part is that it looked like it (bluray) looked like it was region 2 and they butcher dvd's over here (there's a commercial for a god damn bread maker before the movie starts on the "official" R2 version of the Underworld dvd and I won't even bother describing what they did on the "Oldboy" Dvd). the whole point of the bluray will be lost because they'll probably end up chopping the quality of the picture down too.

I'm wondering, are the Eurobeans, meaning us, still able to benefit from the region free games? Meaning that I can import games from the US and actually play them without some mod or chip?

only movies are regioned

and i wouldnt care about ads before it, its just like sitting through some of the crap on dvds, like the start up sequence

movie trailers I can understand, but a bread maker? that's just stupid. it's exactly why I usually prefer to get R1 dvds, less adds, better picture quality and in most cases there are special features (by that i mean that when they sub the movie over here they usually end up cutting stuff like directors commentary, deleted scenes and bloopers. not to mention the quality loss.)

My friend went with me when I bought it yesterday and he's all like " The Bluray DVD players are like a thousand bucks you should get this instead so it can save you money on the bluray" I was like honestly I can give a shit about movies....who cares about HDTV this and high quality that...we know the real reason we want the PS3....now that everyone knows this bitch is region-free all hell just broke loose....if it's backwards region free which means I can import PS2 games and play them on here.....it's game motherfucking over.

I'm all about killling the drama in between which system is best. I'm all about the games so I will also be getting a 360 when some more games I want start popping up. I got my interent set up last night on my PS3, got registered with the Playstation network (it's all free) and I browsed the network just to see what they had to offer. I downloaded the Genji demo and that game is pretty hardcore. Later I might download the Resistance: Fall of Man demo....in a few more weeks some good games are coming out and I've got my eye on Lair and Elder Scrolls.

I am going to buy all three system over time so far I have 360, the next will probably be the Wii. Since the PS3 is so expensive it'll be a while before I own one, i've seen the stuff they have so far and it looks great. I definatly want one.

Personally I believe that you should'nt let the media sway you on what system you should get. Every systems starts out slow cause 1. They're too expensive 2. There are no games for them. I know there are gonna be some killer games for this system already so just knowing the FF13 is gonna be on this system made me buy it.

I am still getting one but they shouldn't of just only made the PS3 titles region free but every PS1 and PS2 game as well. Oh well maby this will be fixed in the near future hopefully.
