PSP vs. DS

there's this thread of discussion about ds becoming better in the future with all the adds. i think it's crap because adds doesn't boost its capability imo. like what add ons are there that can boost ds's graphics. i know it's kinda similar with the other thread but this one is just asking simply, which console is better, and the other one is will DS become better than psp in the future

anyways, vote on.
i give my vote to psp, when you look at the capability, there's no way ds can catch up to psp with the adds

The DS isn't even trying to catch up because it's already ahead. The PSP may certainly be superior here and there, but look at the sales. The DS is ahead in Japan and Europe and about equal with the PSP in America.

im just sayin PSP, cause its geared toward a older market and has features that DS doesnt have right now

also, it cause i got pissed at nintendo for releasing a newer system every 8-14 months, im not made of money to keep getting new ones

the only reason they keep coming out new ones in short period of time is becase there isn't that much difference from an older console to a newer one. look at gameboy-->color-->advance-->sp-->ds. ds came with screens and touchpad. maybe some enhacement in the console

As I said, the DS already is better than the PSP in terms of sales and it doesn't even need any add-ons to do so. Concerning capability, I'm sure the PSP is better, but yea, it's nothing new. As we have seen with the PS2 vs. the GameCube and the Xbox as well as the DS vs. the PSP, capability doesn't seem to matter.

That's not really a reason to get pissed. At least their systems still work when compared with stuff coming from Sony and Microsoft.

Just return the older system, get the money, add a bit onto it, and then get the newer system. That's still cheaper than getting a PSP. Nintendo intends on selling quality at a cheap price but that's the exact opposite with Sony. Your argument about not being made of money would rather apply to companies who sell at expensive prices such as Sony, not Nintendo.

I didn't say that, did I? I am buying the gaming system that in my eyes has the most games that would appeal to me.

The PS2 beat both the GameCube and the Xbox who were both far superior in terms of capability.

The DS is beating the PSP although it is far superior in terms of capability as well.

Doesn't that ring a bell? Do you really think every consumer is an expert in terms of the subject matter and is able to judge what is better? I don't think so.

@zslade: yes, psp may have little games because maybe you guys don't play imported games. like if you guys see worldwide, there are great games for psp out there. also, there are more coming out. like ff vii: crisis core, a RPG, finally

The PSP is better in terms of capability but that doesn't make it the better console overall. The rest depends on personal taste and preferences.

well i know, and i respect on ds' lover's taste about ds. i mean, there isn't a law that says you must like psp better than ds. i played ds too (kirby) and that shit was fun as hell with the touchpad. but i kinda was bummed out because people on the other thread was talking about how ds will become better than psp in capabilitywise in the future with the adds

Who knows what the future will bring? Nintendo themselves said that they are attempting to bring something new to the market. They are not bent on competing in terms of specs and capability.

I've seen psp titles don't look that great to me, and that ffvii game, yeah doesn't strike my fancy either because its gonna suck.

well only reason in my thought is because they are concentrating on ps3 now. there has been low rate of new games coming out and it will rise probably once ps3 sets

Until then, DS > Psp, having a low volume of games doesn't help I don't care what its capabitlies are N64 was far supieror to Ps and but the fact that PS had better games made it a better system. You can shove specs down my throat all you want the fact is games sell a system.
