Plot Summary:The story begins when Hiromichi Kojima, the star batter of the fictional Lycaons in Japan's Pacific League, heads to the southern Japanese island of Okinawa to train and bring himself out of a slump. There, he meet Tōa Tokuchi, a 134-kmph (83 miles per hour) pitcher and the undisputed king of a gambling form of baseball called "One Out." At Kojima's urging, Tokuchi signs up with the Lycaons under an unusual contract: he gets 5,000,000 yen (about US$46,000) for every out he pitches, but loses 50,000,000 yen (US$460,000) for every point he gives up.

I believe I've run across a Spanish sub. If you can use that ... Heh. Yeah, hopefully English subbing group will pick it up soon.

I’m happy to announce that we will be picking up One Outs. I’m a big baseball fan so I was hoping that Triad would have picked this series up by now. Unfortunately, it looks like they’re aren’t, so we decided to pick it up as a side project. I assume most people in fansubbing aren’t familiar with baseball at all, so this show deserves to have someone who actually knows the subject matter.

Now let me make a few things clear to you since this is a side project.

* There is no timeline for releases. We will release whenever we have time to work on the show. Our other weekly shows have priority.
* We will make no promise to finish the series. That’s not to say that we don’t plan on doing it completely, but if it becomes too much of a burden, we will let you know that we’re dropping it. We’re not gonna suddenly stop releasing and keep you guys wondering.

^ But it sounds as if the firm desire to take up the subbing endeavour wholeheartedly. Grr, there are some really good sports animes out there that just don't get the recognition they deserve. Very disappointing. I'm crossing my fingers that m.3.3.w has the time and the interest in finishing this out.

A lot of the same team from Kaiji working on this one, Kig. Same director, same series compositer, VA for Toua also did Kaiji ... some of the staff also worked on Akagi.

This one is definitely in my top three list so far for the season and maybe for the year. Love the OP & ED, love that the VA for Kojima also played Dutch from Black Lagoon ... more gambling, more cliffhanging episodes, more intense narration ... It's like Kaiji and Major just got stirred together in a pot. Ho-ho-ho!

I am really really curious as to why Toua has the knife between his teeth in the OP. And how the heck can a guy throw a fastball with a fork grip? Lots of practice I suppose. Grr ... one of the few series this season that I'm waiting on baited breath for next episode besides Kurozuka and Box of Goblins. Bleh.

Yeah. First ep was fantastic; Unlike most of the series this season, I didn't feel the need to stop watching and do something else every five minutes.

Very interesting stuff.

Arrg ... Heh. Let the frustrating cliffhangers commence? Yeah, I figured this episode would end on 3-0 count. Sheesh. A bit too predictable, Toua catching on to Kojima's wrist injury. The over confident moron made it obvious. Bah-uh-tut ... if by some fluke Kojima does hit a winner, does he plan on taking Toua's right hand with an axe? XP Yea for psychological head games.
