Whatevah. He may not be able to pitch, but he's still a badass. They can't take that away from him.

Oh noez! So, wait... A 9 year-old athlete is really good at what he does and gets unfairly ostracized because of it? I wonder how his 9 year-old nerd friends feel when they get unfairly treated due to their intelligence? Hmm, that doesn’t seem to have made the paper… Give the emokid and emoparents a MySpace page and tell them to man up or cry about it, their choice.

Perhaps the time off pitching can help him develop his all-round game, then he may be able to make the pro leagues. Lmao at kiddy-league politics...

| Donator | Actually, if some math whiz got banned from a math tournament for being too smart, I'm pretty sure it would make the paper.

Thats like banning Michael Jordan from the NBA, because his too good ![]() Gotta feel sorry for the kid, he became so good that when he took the mound the other team decided to give up. Although if I was the kid I would feel pretty awesome at that point Last edited by Gathan; 26-08-2008 at 03:34 AM. |

I can see this being a huge ego boost for this kid. So badass that a whole team forfeit. I am surprised the Chinese didn't recruit him for their Olympic team. Quote:

Nine year old that throws 40 mph with a mother that called the police when the other team forfeited. Lets see-can you say parental ego trip. The kid won't have a shoulder by the time he is a teen ager. Will have surgery by the time he is in his 20's and will be totally out of the game by mid twenties. Let alone the fact that I don't think I would want my 7,8 or 9 year old facing a 40mph ball. A little much for beginners. I guess the other parents could have just started another set and just left the one they were with.

^Agreed If 40 m/h strikes fear into his enemies, they just suck.

I really don't know much about baseball, but having a person that far surpasses everyone else's skill level and lacks the maturity that this kid seems to seems dangerous to the other kids. Isn't that like a pro football player going all out on a high school freshman?

Kids have slow reaction times compared to adults. also skill level and controll of your skills is a lot lower. The probability of him throwing a wayward fastball is a lot higher than a teenager or adult. i can see why they chose to do this. If he wants to play, move up to a higher age group |

It's not the kids fault though. Regardless if it a beginners league or not that's no reason to ban the kid. Either move him up a league or let him play in his age bracket. Don't make him give up something he's good at just cause others can't keep up.

And as a general rule, when you get better than the group you are in, you move on to people more equal to you. Instead of moving him up to the next level, they want him to stay at the lower level-for ego. It looks much better to have a kid that can out throw everyone his age than someone who is on equal ground. In other words, so one set-parent and coach-can bask in the glow of something an eight year old can do well, the rest of the kids get to suffer. The mothers reaction to the forfeit is what tells the real story of this.

I really wonder why the parents didn't take the kid's oppurtunity to up the level. In the end that would be the best for all, the kid would probably up the anté and improve, noone would possibly get hurt and hell, some people might even drop their cocky attitudes. Reality check. The board did nothing wrong. |
