It's a bit dangerous going by yourself. Have fun and good luck. Oh and stop by at the city libraries for intraweb access. Lots of colleges have their libraries open to everyone as well. |

Yeah, it sucks that my friend decided not to come, but he was a bit on and off about it anyways, he didn't want it as much as I did so I can understand he'd decide to stay, even before he was offered the bike. I'll just have to not get mugged or killed, other than that, it'll be fun. As for libraries, I was already thinking of that. Do library internets allow for MSN? Either way I should be able to post from them, as for campuses, I already had them on my radar for sneaking into the shower areas to keep myself clean and not fall into the hobo stereotype of being dirty and smelly. I guess being college age should help me blend in. |

A lot of the libraries block it, but you can always get around it by using meebo - online web IM for AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk messengers or an equivalent.

maybe you should just live in a tent on a mountain top for a month ? Cold clean air , no people to bother you ? good place to find peace with yourself . I honestly don't see a point visiting US , can't stand those people. Any ways get yourself a big hunting knife , should scare some folk off if things get rough . and elk , no offense but even if you were last man alive , you still be second best .

I may do some camping in the Rockies. and I've no intent to go to the US, not yet anyways, thats not until sometime mid next year. Anyways, I'm in Alberta now, small town south of Calgary called Fort Macleod. stayed at my uncles house last night, will be leaving sometime today for Calgary, brought my dad, and some drunk bitch stole all his money. Good thing I opted to stay in my jeep with the doors locked, or my on hand money may have been stolen too. when I head north I'll be leaving my dad here though, so now I'll be the driver. Im already eating less which is odd, Ive maybe had one normal day of food so far since I left town in 2 days. hopefully I'm getting enough to not go into starvation mode, because it'd suck if the only weight I lost was muscle. As for it being rough, and having a hunting knife, would have been a good idea, a baseball bat would have been good too, I MEANT to grab one from my dad, but forgot, so all I have now for defense is a tire iron and a hatchet, and keeping the hatchet next to me might be suspicious, so for now its still in one of my equipment cases. |

So I left the supermarket today (you know, being a capitalist pig and supporting a giant chain) and I could have sworn I saw ELK. I live in Massachusetts mind you, but I saw someone who looks like you talking to a young kid about the war and what the government does to you. But I did not hear him say anything about anarchy. I was thinking ELK blowing some young kids mind in my little shitty town? No way... Anyway, your trip sounds cool. Good luck. |

Oh this is what this thread is about, was thinking something totally different... Anyway take care and have fun. I heard Canada has a lot of great wilderness you should totally hunt, fish, pick berries, and befriend animals, you know really break away from the capital system you so despise.

I'm back in Fort Macleod, my uncle got us a VIP booth at the races up near Aldersyde. Edmonton was fun, met up with the person I was going to travel with, hung out at the local mall, went for a walk and played some Mario Kart Wii. I didn't meet up with my friend in Calgary, because he is weird and Calgary sucked. Calgary is a horrible horrible place. I don't suggest anyone ever go there, the city planner must have been half retarded AND drunk. I tried gtting some directions from a firend who had access to google maps to get to a library, but there was so much construction going on, it was impossible to find. There are also too many one way streets, and "no left/right turn" intersections, its like a god damned maze. Also, almost NOWHERE to park. I also pulled into a no exit street, just as I watched a cop pull out and leave. WHILE a group of people hassled a homeless looking guy. Fucking pigs, I hope he gets a painful cancer. Speaking of construction, it seems to be a curse of mine that no matter where i pick to go, my route WILL be blocked by construction. Seriously, ANY time I decided "I'm going here" I'd plot my route, and bam detour... At least Edmonton was relatively well planned, so I didn't have TOO much trouble getting around. I also locked my keys in my car in Edmonton, I stopped at a church to confirm my location, and use the washroom, and left my keys on the seat. Goodbye 45 dollars. I blame the church, well,at least the people were nice. Well, I know never to do THAT again. Maybe Calgary would have been more easily navigated with a map, as once I got to Edmonton, I picked one up. But either way, Edmonton just made more sense. Quote:

The LU campus in TBay was more open and friendly. Even in summer. I tried to get to the uni in Edmonton. very unfriendly. It wasn't even like a campus, the only parking was pay to park, so I couldn't sleep there, and it seemed more like a part of the city than a campus... I found an uncomfortable place to sleep next to a Mac's though. Last night I ended up on the highway sleeping. I suppose it'd be better if I didn't choose between Edmonton and Calgary, as the transports crossed frequently, lighting up my Jeep, being loud, and rocking my car from the airwave coming off it. Other than that it was cool, quiet, and dark. a less traveled highway, or someplace cool and dark I could set up my tent would be ideal though. Quote:
unfortunately for now I'm in Alberta... When I'm n BC I'll be in a more wildernessy place. Alberta, and Saskatchewan to a lesser extent, is empty fields that smell like animal shit. My Dad busted my AC, so its windows down on the highway. For the most part its ok, but then you hit a stretch of field that just stinks, and you have to decide, sauna, or manure. | ||||

Also, why would you want a Nazi to like you? That'll pretty much peg you as one too.
