i'm so screwed... i really need help for this, but i understand nothing at all!!
here they are.. hope someone will help me:

(1)... Log(5x) = 60
(2)... Log(3x + 8) = 25
(3)... Ln(2x) = 1
(4)... Ln(x^2) = 23
(5)... e^5x = 10
... e^½x = 0

If you could tell me how you did, you would save my life!!!

I've forgotten quite a bit of logs, but I'm pretty sure has no answer. no exponential function will ever exactly equal 0.

(1) x = (10^60)/5
(2) x = ((10^25)-8)/3
(3) x = (e^1)/2
(4) x = squareroot of (e^23) ----> (e^23)^(1/2)
(5) x = (ln 10)/5
x = APPROX ( - infinity)

Default Re: Homework Help v1.3

No problem. It was pretty easy.

e^x = y
ln y = x

log (X) = (Y)
10^(Y) = (X)

The rest is simple calculation.

EDIT: e^x =/= 0
Even if (x) approaches negative infinity, it will never be plotted in the coordinates of (-infinity, 0) since it's impossible. IE: (ln 0 = Does not exist).

Uh..... yeah, the horizontal asymptote is at y=0. That's what I meant.

So..... yeah, I'm not sure. The LIMIT is -infinity, but I think the answer is DNE (Does not exist). .....I feel so torn.....

Sorry the inconvenience(s).

I'll try..... I'm not a very good teacher/tutor.....

e^x = y
ln y = x

(3)... Ln(2x) = 1
.........ln (2x) = 1
Substitute the y and x from the (ln) equation into the (e) equation
.........e^(1) = 2x
Divide both sides by 2
.........(e^(1) = 2x)/2
.........Therefore, ((e^1)/2)=x

(4)... Ln(x^2) = 23
.........ln (x^2) = 23
Substitute the y and x from the (ln) equation into the (e) equation
.........e^(23) = x^2
Square root both sides
.........(e^(23) = x^2)^(1/2)
.........(e^(23))^(1/2) = x^1
.........Therefore, (e^(23))^(1/2) = x

(5)... e^5x = 10
.........e^5x = 10
Substitute the y and x from the (e) equation into the (ln) equation
.........ln 10 = 5x
Divide both sides by 5
.........(ln 10 = 5x)/5
.........Therefore, (ln 10)/5 = x

Stream of consciousness is a literary technique where the author writes exactly what the character is thinking. It's a way of describing his point of view. It may sound incoherent (and if you're 'lucky', there will be no punctuation), but it's just what's going on in the character's head. A great example of this is James Joyce in "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man." I loved that book.

An ode is a type of poem that glorifies a person or an object.

An ode is a long lyric poem, serious and dignified in subject, tone, and style, often written to celebrate an event, person, being or power--or to provide a vehicle for private meditation. Sometimes an ode may have an elaborate stanzaic structure. Almost all odes are poems of address, in which the poet uses apostrophe( repetition of the initial word of thou -a poetic figure of speech in which inanimate object or absent person is directly addressed).

The ode was originally a Greek form used in dramatic poetry, in which a chorus would follow the movements of a dance while singing the words of the ode. Those odes often celebrated a public occasion of consequence, such as a military victory. From those ancient Greek beginnings, the form has descended through the Western culture to appear in English divested of dance and song.

Irregular odes: they have no set rhyme scheme and no set stanza pattern.

Horatian odes follow a regular stanza pattern and rhyme scheme

Isn't this just [(4^square root of 2) * (x^square root of 2)] = roughly 7.1029933x^square root of 2. What lesson/topic is this problem suppose to demonstrate? From what I gather you just distribute square root 2 over both the constant 4 and the variable x. Same concept (4x)^2= (4^2*x^2)= 16x^2.
