There are currently still politicians serving the United States who were once part of the organization. Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia was once in the KKK and signed the Southern Manifesto. There will always be new labels for irate rednecks: Nazis, Neo-Nazis, Facists, Ultra-Conservatives, ect. It is very good these organizations are dying and their influence is quickly diminishing. |
Well put and what I have been trying to convey. It is not a new thing and is far reaching. Not all members are known nor will they ever be. And it is very good they are dying out, but it takes time to change people's views and values so it will take time to make it no longer an acceptable thing to belong to any hate group/gang-no matter what they are trying to push(even PETTA falls under this to me)
