as i said before, it would take under 30 seconds for the guy to bleed to death, and you would have to spend most of that thirty seconds performing first aid for him to even hope to live. and that is with one stab. with multiple, that time is cut down in half with each cut. im going to assume he was stabbed only three. it was accually closer to five, but ill go with three. that would be 7 seconds. even if your trained, it would still take a minimum of 4 seconds to remove the knife, 10 seconds to neutrilize the assailant, then three seconds if hes right near the attacked. thats 17 seconds. thats enough time for the victim to die two times over.

what the fuck could anybody do, esspecially since most likely none of them were trained to counter weaponry.

Guy was already dead and theirs no point in trying to restrain the phycho. Honestly these are people with families and such and their not trained in disarming men with knives or any other weapon. Smartest thing was getting out of the bus and locking the bus door to trap the guy and the driver was smart enough to get the gey and disarm the bus.

Forming a group with wretches just in case was also smart. Retreating and planning in the way this happend was smart.

altho i can certainly understand getting away, evry1 likes to talk about there was only 1guy and hes ONLY got a knife, but it doesnt matter cuz very few ppl are willing to make the first move and b the sacrificial lamb, cuz most likely sum1 will get cut and possibly srsly injured b4 5 ppl jump on the knife wielding maniac, so who wants to go first and take the hit?
its easy to say that the guy is outnumbered when sitting on your computer watching this but its a totally different story when u r facing the very real threat of getting stabbed to death so evrybody else can jump the guy.

I heard about this in the news, but I had no idea he did the heinous act in front of an audience. The passengers must have succumb to a bystander complex ( when everyone expects someone else to do something ). I can't say what I would do if I was in the same situation. I guess you have to keep in mind that these people were waking up to a massacre.

I can understand the people running off if they are mothers, children, disabled. But I still feel if men were on that bus they should have done something WHEN he started to stab the victim with his back turned to everyone!

^He was stabbing him with a big knife (see picture) multiple times,it takes a person at least 2 secs to give a reflex reaction & try to stop the stabber,but by that time,the victim would've already been dead.

Just goes to show how fleeting our existence is, one moment you are jamming to some Talking Heads, and then the next moment some guy is cutting off your head.

I'd like to know why the guy did what he did, not that it would matter, but i think it would shed some light on the human condition.

I've always thought I'd be killed by some out of the fiction type of way. Kinda like the people who were killed by the DC Sniper a couple years back. One moment you're pumping gas, and then one moment later your frontal lobe is smeared all over your left side mirror.

Im kinda torn between this issue myself. On one hand I could easily say the people are bunch of apathetic jackasses. Or I could say they all were afraid. But if thats the case, then I am quite worried about today's people. I mean seriously scared of one man with a knife. Hell even one of the flights on 9/11 had multiple attackers in which people made an attempt to stop them.

This kinda reminds me of the incident in America where this big ole dude beat the crap out of this guy in a pizza parlor, while everyone just watched. No one called the cops during the brawl, no one tried to stop.. In fact everyone just stood in line like nothing was happening. Personally I think people not having a response is more scary at times than the crime itself.

so if your untrained, your going to go get stabbed in the throat yourself and die for a man who cant be saved anyway. are you aware how dificulet it is do disarm a knife, esppecially that size. much harder than a gun. and i can basically guarantee none of those people were trained to even fight an armed person, much less disarm him. much less in the thirty seconds it would have taken for the guy to bleed to death from one stab. then again, if it really was a nine inch ble, he could have even stabbed through the spinal cord, killing the man instantly almost. a stabb to the throat is the single hardest puncture woulnd to treat. its not sick, its the fucking truth.
