i think i'm one of the lucky ones as Adobe Photoshop was already on my comp when i inherited it ^^ now my question is that while i am familiar with the use of 'layers', what is the layer mask function? (had another Q, but forgot TnT) also i seem to have a glitch with my program in that sometimes when i open it the brushes options menu on the right hand side, does not appear to work ie: i will click the option to allow for changing the diameter of the brush, but htere will be no change and i will not get the penpressure response and will have to stick to drawing with a fixed brush size . . . um i'm not sure it that explains it well TnT but basically the option that allows you to alter the size of the brush nib with out selecting a new brush doesn't always work with my program . . .now that might be 'cos my computor is 7 yrs old and i need to get a new one cos the things lags majorly or it might be from the trial program (i think that's why we were able to get Photoshop) um . . . help? (also could people please PM the answer to me - i tend to get lost on these forum things so it might take me a while to find the post where i asked the question )thank you Last edited by Tahleena; 25-04-2007 at 07:16 AM. |

Retard Question.... Is there anyway to cut and paste/take out/(what ever the terminlogy is..) a particular scene from something your watching. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff but what I tried to do was.. 1. pause at the scene i wanted 2. press the 'Print Screen' button on the keyboard 3. paste it in 'Paint' and edit it abit this is where it got frustrating, the imaging kept on change based on whether i opened a window, moved real player window, etc etc. Any advice would be appreciated |

You can use virtual dub to get the images. Look for it on download.com Or if your using media player go to tools, options, or whatever. Look for video acceleration. If I remember correctly it needs to be off, then it should work. I haven't touched gfx in over a year so I don't quite remember, but hopefully that will help.

when i try to use the smudge and blur tools to blend effects, it seems to bog down my computer...whats the deal?? the clock comes up and I have to wait a good bit for even the slightest smudge usage....the thing is, even while i'm waiting i can open up windows media player and/or firefox etc. without any sort of hitches at all...is there anyway i can dedicate more memory/ram usage to my photoshop program?? as of right now i have 2 gigs of ram btw...most of the files i work in are 300 resolution too...but still, any sort of ways i can improve the performance without sacrificing my image resolution??

A quick question: What's the keyboard shortcut for swapping the foreground and background colours(in the side toolbar) in photoshop? I'm using CS2 btw...
