Default Paint.NET Signature Tutorial

Here is a step by step tutorial on How to make sigs with Paint.NET v.3.22.

I am assuming you downloaded it already, and if you haven't, do so.

The 1st step is to Find a render from Planet Renders v3
I will be using this Render:

IMPORTANT: SAVE AS A .png SO THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CUT THE BACKGROUND.

Now open up Paint.NET and open your render (CTRL+O)
Use the Rectangle Select tool
And press CTRL+A to select your whole render. Now use the Move Selected Picture Button
And drag the bottom right hand corner while holding SHIFT. Result should now look like so:

Now with your new image, go back to the rectangle select tool
and it already should have selected your picture if you followed instructions so far, now Copy your picture. (CTRL+C)
Now make a new picture by pressing (CTRL+N) and make the Width: 500 and the Length: 150. Now make a new layer using the tool that is located on the Layers window. Press it 10-20 times. Now with the picture still in your clipboard, paste the picture on each layer (except for the background) by pressing (CTRL+V). It may ask you to expand the canvas or keep canvas size. Press Keep Canvas Size. Paste the image on each layer to fill all the white space. If you need more layers, go to the TOP LAYER (usu. Layer 11) and press the New Layer Button. You mau now have something that looks like this:

Now Merge ALL the layers down until the only Layer left is Background. Use this tool:

which is located on the Layers window.
Now go to Effects>Blurs>Motion Blur and a window will pop up. This is what you should do to see it:

Make the Angle: 101.50 and the Distance: 100, and press OK. Now go make a new layer once again, and with the Naruto Picture still on your clipboard, Paste it on the new layer. Move it around, see what you like. Now if you want to change the color of the background, select the Background Layer, go to the Top Toolbar that has the File, Edit, etc; go to Adjustments>Hue/Saturation. And move the Hue and the Saturation to the colors you would like. Personally, I like the background already so I'll keep it. Now merge the Layer down to the Background. Now use the Text Tool:
and add your text. Then press CTRL+S to save your work.
Finished Result:

Good Luck! You may post YOUR results here!

Way to go J, nice tutor. Paint.net is a good free prog instead of PS that needs constantly attention. You should find some more interesting ways to experiment, even though there is few ways to do it. Go at them tigah.

if you actually knew what you are talking bout...

he never toled him to download it, he said to "get" it, he never said in which way...

and even if he does download it in an illegal way, masking your IP and other things make it almost impossible to track you down, and unless he is at work or in a school based system, he doesnt even need to worry about that

now about the tut, im sorry, but its really bad :'(

Downloading PS is the only option for a hobby artist theese days. I got my copy from school, other people aint so lucky. And I know that it's quite safe to download PS, I now (know) what I'm talking about, just, getting ps is not the best reply to somebody that did something. On the other hand, I know why such a respons came, so I have knowledge of many things.

he never said to download it...

and you are saying that is the only option for hobby artists these days? show me where you got that insanely absurd fact and ill believe you

other then that

if he really wants to do sigs and other computer-graphic thingys

paint.net will not do, only proffesional programs such as PS have the ability and options to produce good quality projects...

I know Paint.net is crap but what option do we have in this society?

I base my statement of the fact: Everyone I've spoken to has never ever bought a single copy of a ps version.

Could someone be the first to tell me that they've actually bought one?

ANY small / big / whatever business or school, basically any industry wont be so stupid as to not buy an official copy of PS..

i know that when i actually have the money to spare i will buy the copy even tho i have it downloaded. reason i downloaded it was since i didnt have the money and actually want to go learn more about computer design, but i will buy it when i have the money to support the industry that made it...

and just saying that "it is the only option to download it for any non-proffesional artists" is just plain stupid, maybe it was YOUR only option, but not others.

and maybe you can make some nice things in pain.net altho i doubt it, but its just that even if you can, this tut itself surely doesnt show it.

Yeah, obviously, everyone in the world is too poor, this is why Adobe have never sold a copy of Photoshop to anyone other than a large business, clearly.

This tutorial sucks, the end result is crap, and Hikari is a very bad sig maker, not because he's new, I've seen him make plenty of tags, but because he doesn't improve, there's very little he can teach anyone, he should ideally be trying to improve his own tag making, getting Photoshop, or, hell, even GIMP, would be a start.

I wasn't talking about companies and schools, I was talking about us little humans. And as you stated, you'll buy it when you have the money because you've tested the software unlegally like demo. Not many people have a legal version of PS, but state that they will buy it when they'll get money.

And I have got a version of PS CS 3 and the whole package, so I own the package legally and have all rights to tell people how bad owning illegal things is. "You wouldn't steal a car"

Yeah, the people that live side by side of Photoshop buys it. I'll buy it if I'll get a job later in my life, but not just have it for fun.

And even if he is a bad sig maker, or if the tutorial suck, does the internet imunity give you right to verbally tell him that it suck? I know people at this forum are rude, and some mods, but you don't have to contribute to that. Either tell him something supportive or don't mind posting. The lounge is /\ that way.

And don't take this personally, we're just having a discussion.

Please make it clear how you got it from school. From my knowledge(worked as a TA under my school's computer department head for high school), Adobe don't exactly have a good history of supporting school systems with free software. Currently the high school I went to has to pay $550 for the creative suite as a base, then pay another $50 for every computer that the school wants to install the suite. The $50 per computer is for purchasing the license to install Adobe software on to other computers. This was BEFORE the merge of Macromedia and Adobe. So unless your teacher or school worked out a way to pay for the copy of installation you have on your computer right now, you have also not obtain your copy legally.

Here are the current pricing:
Adobe - Creative Suite 3 Site License

But our school worked a way out for us to get it for free mainly because we joined the Adobe Youth Voices program. This is a branch off Adobe that is supporting schools with fundings as long as the school spends some time creating projects for the Adobe Youth Voices. I.E Create a video project on a local problem around the neighborhood(my classmates did this one).

Adobe Youth Voices:
Adobe - Corporate Affairs/Community Relations: Adobe Youth Voices

Get your facts and resources before you start arguing or gtfo.

My school buys 400 keys for the Adobe premium CS 3 every single year. They install it on our computers that they have bought for us. So I have stole nothing. The school gets another price plan because of the number of students so that they don't have to spend millions of money giving the students the cs3 package.

I'm not in a normal school called High school or college. Here it's called gymnasium and it's a 10-13 grade system compaired to american school. And they've bought us laptops for the education instead of boring books, and they install a package with all the different programs we need.

Thought that my facts and recources could be understood in the way I wrote.

Web Premium package sums up my cs 3.
