Hey guys, I got some cash to buy stuff with and I'm thinking about a tablet. I'm thinking about the Wacom Intuos3 but I can't decide the size, 4x6 or 6x8. Also whats a decent/good digital slr to get for short-long term use for a beginner ._. Thanks guys |

I have a Genius 8x6 tablet, moved up from a small 3x4 one. I'd recommend that you go with one of the cheaper brands first (genius is cheap and so far i've had no problems with it) to see if you like using it then move on to Wacom. those things come with an insane price tag when compared to other brands (granted there are only like 2 or 3 others but still) but size wise i'd say go with 6x8, the bigger tablet was much more comfortable to use for me. this is probably better answered by some of the people who have a Wacom though.

im not sure about a tablet but i am sure about a camera your top 3 choices are - Sony A700 DSLR (or if you want to save money, the A100) - Nikon D80 (or wait for the D90 to come out) - Canon EOS 400D (also known as the Rebel) i personally have the Sony a100 when i bought it (this could be argued) it was the best camera on the market in price and features. It is basically a minolta with Sony's name on it...the lens family (which i have 2 of and tryed 3 others) are actually top notch. id really really recommend this camera i know that poony has the Canon if you want feedback on that, then ask him...i have tryed it out...but it just doesnt feel rite to me..felt like a toy Now the closest competitor to the a700/a100 is the nikon D80/90... The Sony a100 and the nikon d80 are practically the same...just that the sony has image stabilization and some other shits that make it slightly better...but when comparing the a700 and the d80, the a700 wins hands down if i were you, id wait for the Nikon D90 to come out and compare it with the Sony A700...by that time the Sony A700 will also have a less hefty price tag if you want a good site to compare cameras and shit - Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ w/e you do though, dont buy a camera until you get some advice from poony...he really knows what hes talking bout. when you buy your camera...make sure its not the body only...youll need a lens (lulz) to know which lens to buy depends on what your shooting.. if your going for macros get an 18-70mm lens...if your shooting waterscapes and landscapes get a 10-20mm lens...if your gunna do portraits, macros, and basically animals and things that will move if you get to close, get a telephoto zoom once you buy your lens and camera..buy either a UV filter or a circular polarizer to start you off also hope this helped
