Default Doctor Who

Summary:
Quote:
Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller known as "the Doctor" who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems and righting wrongs.
Anyone else besides me on here watch this? I figured it wouldn't be very big outside of the UK, and i saw no thread so I decided to make one.. Series four of the new episodes has just reached midway with the episode "Silence in the Library" and with it came the release of the mid season trailer, for things to come.

Last nights Episode was damn good.. and it got me siked for the rest of the season, can't wait for the Finale, so, there any fans around these parts? or am I a lone soldier.

Anyways I've been watching the doctor since it started airing on the SciFi channel.
Right now where on The Poison Sky and it looks like its starting to get really good.
It took me some time after the last doctors death though to accept the current one as the doctor, yes I did get rather attached to the last incarnation.
Infact I still miss him a little

Ah i missed it last night, aleast we get to see *her* again, i knew that it would probably be centered around her this season after her appearance in the first episode and then when we seen her face shouting on the doctor's tardis monitor. I want to know more of her story after she was stranded.
Gathan, iwas theopposite to you i really prefer David Tenant to the other dude, i don't know i just didn't really warm to him and the way he got on seemed fake to me. Iwas really happy with the new choice they made and it looks like he will be staying a least until 2009 and maybe beyond.

hehe.... yea i was the same i thought it was total crap and ingnored it up until David Tenant came along, but it is one of those shows that grows on you and there are mystery's of how do these people know this or who and then there mystery clues throughout that makes you question what the big ending is going to be as it always ties in i.e this series it is Rose and in the previous it was BADWOLF

David Tennant is by far a MUCH better doctor than christopher eccelston (david is the current doctor, eccleston the one before him) eccleston was just too.. cheap, he could act yes, but you could tell that's what he was going, acting, David, it's actually like he is the doctor.

anyway, first post edited.. video is in spoiler tags xD sorry bout that.

and does anyone else besides me actually hate Dona as travelling partner? yeh, she' seems to be the most.. normal so far, and obviously the funniest, i just don't think her place is onboard the tardis, hated her in runaway bride too.

@Scar, yeh, the woman got me pumped the last episode just kept popping out new question after question, it was the best episode since 'Blink' in the last series. Can't wait for its sequel.. it's almost the three parter finale too!

^I know.

I'm to excited lol.

At first i was thinking oh yeh, that's probably a future rose or future donna, but then when she said the youngest i've ever seen you and you're donna, i was like, ok, damn it to hell i want to know.

But i have to wait, it's not fair.

And i agree donna(catherin tate), doesn't really fit as a traveling partner, she's good for a few laughs and she can act, but she doesn't seem fit for the type of travels the doctor goes on, not like rose and martha were.

i always thought that she was a future companion or something cause i don't think it's Jenny unless she goes through a regeneration in the future. They are the only reasons i think that she has a sonic screwdriver and has traveled with the doctor.

lol at the little blue book with the tardis door design, wonder what the big secret is

I think she's just a future companion, nothing more, nothing less (perhaps a very close future companion, maybe even on an intimate level) she seems to be very much like martha, call when i need you type person.

some people have been suggesting she's possibly the Rani..

(evil female timelord, think the master, but female)

The book, so far as we know, contains the journies the doctor has been on, or atleast, the possible ones he's been on with this woman.

That's a good idea, if jenny went through a regenerative process, but, can she do that?

I suppose she could.. she is, infact a timelord, two hearts and all that jazz, although I have always been under the impression a Timelord (with Gallifrey gone) have to be in the Tardis to regenerate.

before the time war, a dude use to appear known as the 'watcher' and he use to regenerate timelords for them.. hmm.

Yeh, but didn't the doctor say that she isn't a proper timelord or something.

Because she was just made up out of skin graph?

to be honest i'm not really *back to-date* with all of the old episodes, i mainly just watch the current ones. i don't really know what the planet has to do with their regeneration or who the watcher is because of this.

i think that he said she waasn't a timelord because he sees her as a copy of a great valiant race and that she hasn't the right to call herself a timelord because she has not suffered like they have or experienced anything it means to be a timelord.

Ahh right. Must of thought wrong then.

Yeh, i also haven't seen the earlier episodes, only since it came back, the 60's+ has never been watched by me. I only know that the darleks used to be the easiest things ever to defeat, alls you had to do was run up a flight of stairs or throw your coat over them And that there was dalek lord or something that was half dalek half humanoid.

Yeh, the creator of the Daleks, he's Davros
I've seen most of Doctor who.. from the second Doctor up, could never get ahold of anything from the first doctors period, which was a shame, Doctor who is more or less the ONLY show i watch on tv.

let me explain the Daleks for yah, on the Planet Skaro, there was a war between two factions, it raged for over 100 hundred years, the planet laid to waste, most of the inhabitance who were still alive at this point dying of radiation poisoning and such.. so, a scientists on one of the sides, known as Davros, found a way to turn his dying and sick people into machines (the first daleks) and they won the war, but, there was nothing left of the planet, it was a barren waste land, for hundreds of years it stood silent, the daleks did nothing, but sit still.. until Davros found space travel, and from that moment, they moved out across the cold of space to conquer the universe knowing nothing but war, and how to kill.

they made alliances with other alien races, stabbing them in the back when the time was right to gain their terriroty, they slowly expanded, and eventually gained the notice of timelord society, they decided they were a race too evil and cruel to be left alone.. so the time war started up, but.. half way through the time war the Daleks rebel against Davros and kick him out of their society becoming much cruely then they originally were.. angered by this, Davros finds a cash of frozen humans and creates his own new dalek army to fight the original Daleks, AND the timelords.. Davros apparantly died at some point in it, killed by the 7th doctor (if my memory serves me correctly) the Dalek Emperor was the leader of the Origian faction, Davros leader of the new.
