well in season 1 Sylar's confrontation with Peter in Mohinder's father's apartment when Sylar starts cutting peter's head but peter's head heals
I'm assuming it's because of his micmicry of Claire's powers.

and Also Adam=same regeneration as Claire and can only be killed by a bullet between the eyes.

and also from the pilot of season 3

viewers explained the scene where Sylar confronts CLaire and ends up cutting open her head taking what he needs and tells her ''you can't be killed and now neither can I'' or something around the lines of that.

1. Sylar stopped half-way when he was cutting Peter
2. Head destruction=dead, either by bullet or telekinetic shiv
3. well, he killed her, so it should be "almost" immortal

well to kill they said you need to technically fully remove the brain right?
he only cuts it through halfway

if I remember it said they were conversing while he was examining her brain

Claire is almost immortal, but as she can be killed, she is not fully immortal.

And if something penetrates the brain, they go into a near death state.(Peter after the glass shard got stuck in the back of his head. When the shard was removed, he regenerated.)

yea I understand now
they can die because the glass and wood stick in Claire from the rape episode were interefering with the brain's regeneration but in that case they don't die permanently that way

so cause it seems Sylar is oblivious to this fact I still believe she has the ability to survive granted he doesn't fully decapitate her or remove her brain P:

Peters head healed cause he was given enough time to heal Claire's healing powers aren't instantaneous

She is immortal.

Being immortal DOES NOT neccesarily mean you can't be killed. Think about vampires, highlanders, etc...they are ageless and thus immortal but they can be killed because they are still subject to harm, and a significant amount will kill them.

Someone who is invunerable cannot be killed.

besides healing herself and occasionally others
she can't do much if she is ever in a fight

by giving her a backbone and not resulting in every scenario with Claire being tossed around with broken bones and bruises ( although I do admit she was good with the elle spying scenario)
