Rules Regarding the Movie Section

It appears that spam is getting out of control. In most cases, a lot of you guys are going off topic and I'm not sure how. There is a thread for every movie and show and if it's not up, make one. So why there's so much off topic spam leaking into other movies I don't know but it's going to stop. Also, there's no excuse to see the number of insults being thrown around here remarking an angry reply. Joking is one thing, but this isn't the lounge. Watch what you say.

Last note, A lot of you are having trouble actually using the Search button and as a result, there are way too many duplicate threads then there should be. The Search button is right above the Arcade tab at the top of the page. You click it and you type in what you're searching for. If it isn't up there then guess what? It's all yours.

So because some of us are having some trouble following simple guidelines, I've decided to actually type them out for you.

Please Read if you're new to this section or unfamilar with the rules. Actually, Everyone would do well to read.

• No Spamming - Don't Spam, stay on topic. It's really that simple. If it's noted you're making a habit of it, You will be warned, the next time, infracted. End of story.
  *Edit by fieldy: this recent wave of post whoring will be monitored and reviewed on a case by case basis, Everybody's welcome to post here but this "i miet see dis movie l8r ^_^" crap will not be tolerated

• Insults - Careful the way you speak to another. Like I said this isn't the lounge. Joking is okay to a degree but calling another a moron or worse for their opinions because you're irritated with their posts will leave you banned from the thread real quick.

• Duplicate Threads - Search Button Search Button Search Button. I promise you it's as easy as ABC. I know sometimes a topic may not always present itself, it's happened to me before, but most of them are so Please Especially ALL NEW MEMBERS search before you make a thread. Also, If it's not there, especially if the thread is pushed back or no longer active, use the ADVANCED SEARCH Button. It will broaden your search with a decent chance of if there's something already there, it'll show up.

• Threads - This isn't much of a problem but it is sometimes annoying to see. All new threads, for those who start them, please at least provide some level of info or link or anything to provide what it's about. I dislike checking out a thread, have no idea what the show or movie's about and the only thing you see is, "So i'm excited, or thoughts?" Something more then that. Occasionally one sentence responses are also fine but do not make a habit of it. It's fairly easy to keep track of who does it regularly and your posts will be deleted.

  go here: The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) or go to my thread and dig up a synopsis/plot summary for the movie, do NOT forget to post sources with your information. From now on you get one warning, then I start adding infractions. Also, go and check my thread, Movie|TV Section Info good chance that the movie you're going to make a thread for already has one, if it doesn't use the search button called "Search this Forum", if nothing pops up post away.

• Thread Titles - Be as specific as possible when it comes to thread titles. It will reduce the risk of getting your thread locked if it somehow relates to another similar movie thread. If it's saying the same thing without specifics it Will be locked so for the benefit of your own thread, make your thread title clear.

I think these are all pretty basic and simple. If there's a problem PM. It's no biggie.

• Spoilers: I'll try to put up and keep a "(possible spoilers)" tags on movie threads for the first two weeks from the international release dates. This does not mean that you're allowed to skip spoiler tags. Failure to put them up or atleast warn about discussions of the ending of the flick during the two weeks will be dealt with, severely.
  
  If I forget to put them up or take them down feel free to pm me.

• TV shows:The rule about the plot outline applies to shows too. These threads are different by nature, discussion will most likely be focused around the latest episode so if you missed it I suggest staying out.

• News posts:Post a source and a quote. I'm fine with it containing spoilers as long as it is mentioned at the or before the beginning of the article

• Trolling: Do me a solid, don't reply to obvious trolling, all you're doing is making me delete two or more posts instead of one.

updated some basic info for everybody. searching IMDB or even my thread for some basic information on the movie you're starting a thread for is now mandatory, same with using the "Search This Forum" button.
