Is Sasuke TRULY Evil?

Sasuke isnt evil. He'll just do anything for revenge. If you ask me, revenge isnt evil. Revenge is just something we go through as humans.

I actually think that he is evil. Evil takes many forms and has many different origins. Sasuke is to me the most selfish of all the Naruto characters. He can only think about himself and what he wants and cares nothing for the lives of the people who care about him. They continually risk their lives for him and he returns this by trying to kill them.

Naruto, Neji, Kiba, Shikamaru, and Choji risked their lives fighting ninja who would have killed any normal genin. Gaara and Lee also showed up to help and Gaara isn't even friends with Sasuke.

So really what it boils down to for me is what Kakashi said way back at the beginning of the series when he said something to the effect of people who don't care about or take care of their comrades are trash.

Do I understand why Sasuke is so angry and wants to kill Itachi? Yes. But should he have turned his back on his friends and then try to kill the one who wanted to help him the most? No. Does that make him evil? Yes, especially given the definition that the Naruto characters give evil.

I think it depends on what you would call evil.

Sasuke would stop at nothing to gain power to kill his brother. I don't think it's direct evil, but it's close. What he would do to reach his goal might be considered evil. If someone tried to stop him (Naruto) he would just have to kill him. He'd kill anyone who got in his way, and that's pretty evil. He doesn't care about anything other than killing Itachi. He doesn't care what it takes to kill him. He'll do whatever he must.

i was just going off the first episode in shippuuden (cuz i havent watched original series in awhile, and i rewatched shippuuden's first episodes) and when sasuke and naruto meet naruto 'asks' why sasuke didnt just kill him way back then (the epic fight) and sasuke said he just didnt want to follow itachi's path.

Idk if evil is really the right word to be used. But, like alot of peopel said already. Its what you would consider evil is.

I categorize Sasuke in the "Evil" group. (dont know if hes really evil though). But theres not a doubt in my mind that some of the actions of Sasuke is evil.

First, he sought out Orochimaru for more power even though he knew that he was the one who killed the 3rd Hokage.

He also turned his back on his friends for the sole purpose to gain more power, even though it put his allies at risk.

He knowingly uses the Cursed Seal, ignoring the negative side effects and the "evil-ness" of the name.

All in all though, I see Sasuke as a misguided young man with the burden of being the younger brother of the man who killed his entire bloodline save for sasuke. TRUELY evil? no. Loser/emo/jerk yes.

It also takes a real human to choose another path other than revenge: Kakashi.

i don't believe sasuke is evil at all. Who can name one evil thing sasuke has done?

1. Leave Konoha. Not evil just against the law.

2. KNock naruto out at Valley of the End- Naruto pushed sasuke into fighting. Sasuke was clearly ready to walk away, but naruto pushed the fight to happen so sasuke was forced into that situation.

In what way is sasuke evil. Because he left naruto? I mean naruto looks freakin ridiculous in this. Imagine if there was no itachi and sasuke was like unnoe what i'm leaving you and konoha because i wanna become a model. AND naruto was like no sasuke ur gonna stay here wit me forever n ever. If naruto was smart he would help sasuke defeat itachi since he's all about people acoomplishing their dreams, that way he would be able to have sasuke back, and have less to fear from akatsuki.

I think he can be considered "evil" from the way he thinks. He and Kakashi has been through the same thing (Kakashi speaks to him right after the whole hospital roof rasengan-chidori thing) and yet Kakashi still chose a different path.

Sasuke ain't evil. He just wants vengence, and as he allone said, hes an avenger, and he will get he power no matter if its evil or good. He will do EVERYTHING to kill Itachi.

So, he's not evil yet he's not a good person?

Look at Naruto. He will never want to become stronger if he has to do something evil. Look at how much stronger Sasuke got in the short amount of time when he was training with Kakashi. He was only pissed off because of Naruto's growth. He was comparing himself with Naruto. He thought to himself, "I'm not going to get stronger than Naruto or much stronger at all to avenge my family if I don't get the hell out of here."

Orochimaru gave him the curse seal and Sasuke got a taste of what power he could achieve, even though it was "fake" power. So, as Orochimaru said, he sought power from Orochimaru.

I don't think what he does makes him evil but the WAY he thinks makes him evil.

You stated that he left Konoha and represented it as if we he just wanted a change of scenary. When in fact, its almost sounds like youre ignoring the fact that he was leaving to meet up with the "evil" Orochimaru, sworn enemy to the Leaf Village.

True, that Naruto was the one who pretty much initiated the fight with Sasuke. But remember, it wasnt just Naruto. It was a mission given by the Hokage to go and retrieve Sasuke. Shikamaru, Chouji, Kiba, Neji, AND Naruto were all assigned this mission to bring him back. Ontop of all that, even Gaara/Temari/Kankurou were sent to aid them on this mission.

Sure Sasuke was ready to walk away, but like you said... Its against the law.
