An FAQ would be a great, addition to the Naruto Dub section, since there are Naruto Dub only watchers and this could help them answer their questions. Its not fully done yet, I am still working on it. I need episode summaries, edits, and voice clips (.wav) format. Other additions and help PM me, the summaries may not contain spoilers! NARUTO DUB FAQ Naruto is a Shonen (teen male oriented) animated series and manga (Japanese comic) created by Masashi Kishimoto. Both the anime and the manga are ongoing in Japan at the moment. The series has been licensed abroad in various countries. You can find Naruto manga on American shelves and the animated series airing in the Japan/Philippines. The show takes place in a world populated by ninja villages. The ninja in the series serve as the armies for the countries that inhabit the world. Most of the countries have their own Hidden Village, which serves to train and manage the ninja of the country. Also the ninja in the series are able to utilize jutsu techniques, which are the secrecy, body and illusion arts of the ninja. These allow the ninja to perform many amazing skills such as the manipulation of the surrounding elements. The main character of the series is Uzumaki Naruto, a young boy who dreams of becoming the leader of his Hidden Village. It will be difficult though for Naruto, because when he was a baby an evil demon was placed inside him to stop its rampage. As Naruto grew the townspeople saw Naruto himself as the demon, even though he was merely its container. When the series begins the reader and viewer will begin their journey with Naruto on his path to become respected by the village. -- Courtesy of LeafNinja  Academy Student: Academy Students are taugh the basic jutsu skills, once they master the basic jutsy skills they will graduate and become a ninja. Genin: Academy Student + Graduation ---->Genin Genin are the lowest of ninja skill levels. They possess a knowledge of all the basic ninja skills and will do lower C & D rank missions with their Jounin sensei. Examples of Genin are Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. Chuunin: Genin + Passing the Chuunin Exams ----> Chuunin The Chuunin is the basic journeyman ninja of the village. These ninja can become field doctors or teachers. They were formerly Genin who were promoted for displaying excellent intelligence, strategy and combat skills. Umino Iruka is an example of a chuunin. Special Jounnin: Special Jounin are ninjas who have gained high Jounin-level skills in one area of ninja arts. These are ninja like Morino Ibiki, who is highly skilled at interrogation and torture. Jounin: The Jounin are ninja who are highly skilled in all jutsu skills and arts. The Jounin generally serve as squad commander for mission operations. Example of a Jounin is Kakashi. Kage: The Kage is the strongest ninja in its village. The Kage has excellent chakra control and amount; knows the most amount of jutsu; has a high stamina. Tracker Ninja: Ninjas who have left there village, and now are 'missing' and they are tracked by thre fellow village, so if they die the village secrets aren't shown to other villages. The meaning is actually hard to understand since even Kishimoto doesn't have a clear thought on the meaning. Dattebayo actually translates to "Don't ya know?" And is commonly tagged onto sentence or more commonly a statement to add meaning, or just to sound cute; we don't know if that is fully true but its more believeable than other works. Episode 2 Original title: “I am Konohamaru!" Dub title: "My Name is Konohamaru!" Throughout the generations, the elder of the Konoha Village has been called "Hokage" and only those who have refined and mastered their skills, body and soul as a Ninja can attain this position. The current Hokage Sarutobi is the third in the line of the leaders and he has a grandson named Konohamaru. Naruto finally graduates from the Ninja Academy and claims to know it all. Well, at least that what he tells Konohamaru, the Village elder's pint-size grandson. He meets Konohamaru when he submits his official registration as a Ninja. Konohamaru starts calling Naruto "Boss" and follows him wherever he goes. This is because Naruto is the only one who does not give special treatment to Konohamaru, since he is the grandson of the Hokage. Much to the dismay of Ebisu, Konohamaru's teacher and mentor, Naruto teaches him the hormonally lethal "Sexy Jutsu!" Konohamaru wants to become a Hokage as soon as possible to earn respect from everybody. Episode 3 Original title: "Old enemies!? Sasuke and Sakura" Dub title: "Sasuke and Sakura: Friends or Foes?" Naruto, who has finally become a Ninja, forms a team with two others to complete a mission. His teammates are Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. On the way to becoming a ninja, Naruto must team up with the pretty Sakura and the pretty serious Sasuke, whose only common bond is that they both hate Naruto. Naruto has a giant crush on the pretty Sakura, but she only pays attention to Sasuke. Unlike Naruto, Sasuke is not only cool and good looking, he is a ninja with considerable skills. Naruto tries to win Sakura over by pretending to be Sasuke! Episode 4 Original title: "Test! Survival practice" Dub title: "Pass or Fail: Survival Test" Now that Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are a team, they meet with their sensei, the enigmatic and aloof Kakashi. He shows up late and even gets caught in one of Naruto's tricks. But then, he presents to them a survival challenge where only two of them will pass, sending the failing student back to the Ninja Academy! The three young Ninjas are frightened when they hear that those who fail the test will be sent back to the Academy. Too bad they don't know that Kakashi's never passes anyone! Episode 5 Original title: "Disqualification? Kakashi's conclusion" Dub title: "You Failed! Kakashi's Final Decision" The test initiated by Kakashi is an overwhelming one. The Kakashi that is now standing in front of Naruto and his teammates is no longer the same aloof person they had seen before. He easily deflects a serious attack by Naruto. And even Sasuke is no match for Kakashi. As for Sakura, she can't even figure out what to do. The three young Ninjas realize that the difference between Jonin (upper rank ninja) Ninja Kakashi's true powers and their own is like heaven and earth. There is nothing that they can do and if this keeps going on, all three will be sent back to the Academy. While Naruto and others start becoming desperate, Kakashi actually wants to teach something important to the three in this test. With the threat of failure hanging over their heads, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura do everything they know how to pass the grueling survival test. But it will take some wise advice from Kakashi to teach these selfish ninja a thing or two about teamwork! Episode 6 Original title: "Important mission! Super-departure to the Land of Waves!" Dub title: "A Dangerous Mission! Journey to the Land of Waves!" Naruto and his partners are granted the right to receive missions as ninjas. But in the beginning, they start their first ninja missions with boring and menial tasks, such as finding missing cats. Naruto becomes weary and angry of the situation and finally vents his anger and frustration towards the Third Hokage. Amused by Naruto's excitement, Hokage realizes the boy's strong desire to do something and decides to give the team a more important mission. The new assignment is to protect a grumpy old man named Tazuna as he returns to his native land called the Land of Waves. Episode 7 Original title: "Assassin of the Mist!" Dub title: "The Assassin of the Mist!" Naruto and his squad arrive in the Land of Waves and learn that an evil businessman named Gato has taken over the land. The assailants that they confronted earlier were sent by Gato to take Tazuna's life. Zabuza Momochi, who is also hired by Gato and infamous for his "Silent Killing,” appears to kill Tazuna. Excited and ready to attack, Naruto can't wait to take on this powerful ninja assassin, but Kakashi warns the young ninja that he would be no match against Zabuza. Episode 8 Original title: "Decision sworn on pain" Dub title: "The Oath of Pain" Kakashi goes behind the back of Zabuza and points the tip of his blade right on the edge of the enemy's throat. It appears as if Kakashi secures the victory by shutting down Zabuza's movement from the back, but that body is actually a dummy created by "Water Clone!” Kakashi has the upper hand against Zabuza in their battle, but in an instant, the momentum of the battle shifts. Soon, the tide turns as Kakashi is trapped inside Zabuza's Water Prison! Only Naruto and the young Ninjas can protect Tazuna now. Naruto and Sasuke's attacks have no effect against the powerful Zabuza. Kakashi urges the squad to flee, but Naruto remembers the pledge he made on his left hand - to never run away again - and holds his ground by gathering all of his courage. Episode 9 Original title: "Sharingan Kakashi" Dub title: "Kakashi: Sharingan Warrior!" Thanks to Naruto's ingenious plan, Kakashi is freed from the water prison. The time he has arrived to unleash the true power of Sharingan. Kakashi duplicates Zabuza's move, Explosive Water Wave in an instant and hits Zabuza with his own move. Sharingan allows Kakashi to read Zabuza's actions before they happen and furthermore, launch Zabuza's own moves with more destructive power. Zabuza suffers critical damage to his body at the hands of Sharingan. Kakashi is about to finish off his enemy, but in a blink of an eye, Senbon needles suddenly pierce the body of Zabuza. A mysterious tracker ninja shows up and kills Zabuza before Kakashi can. Naruto is shocked that a boy, not much older than he, was able to defeat Zabusa so easily. Episode 10 Original title: "Forest of chakra" Dub title: "The Forest of Chakra" After the ordeal, Naruto and his teammates finally reach Tazuna's house. Recuperating at Tazuna's house, Kakashi temporarily loses his ability to move after completely exhausting his stamina from using the Sharingan. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura have an air of confidence and the sense of relief after the disposing of Zabuza. However, Kakashi is unsatisfied with the outcome of the battle. A tracker ninja would usually eliminate any remains of the ninja that he killed, but why did that boy take home the body of Zabuza? Kakashi concludes that Zabusa isn't dead and the young tracking ninja helped Zabuza escape! Naruto and his team cannot hide their shock when they learn that Zabuza may indeed be still alive. After informing the three young Ninjas of this news, Kakashi decides to implement some interesting training that will allow Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura to better control their chakra in a short span of time. Episode 11 Original title: "The country that had a hero" Dub title: "The Land Where a Hero Once Lived" Sakura goes out to town with Tazuna and discovers the hardship that the people of Land of Waves suffer under Gato's rule. It is because of this reason that Tazuna risks his life building a bridge that crosses the ocean. He believes that by constructing a bridge, people will no longer have to rely on Gato, who controls the maritime transportation. Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuke are working hard on their training of using chakra to climb up a tree. When the two return from the forest to Tazuna's house, they are worn out from their intense training. But a child named Inari gives them a cold stare and dismisses their hard work by saying that they have no chance of winning against Gato. Inari's foster father Kaiza, who he admired deeply, had been executed by Gato. Episode 12 Original title: "Decisive battle on the bridge! Zabuza once more!!" Dub title: "Battle on the Bridge! Zabuza Returns!" While Naruto concentrates on the training to control his Chakra, a mysterious person suddenly appears before him. The person tells Naruto that as long as one has the desire to protect what he loves, there is no limit to becoming stronger. The mysterious figure echoes the sentiment inside Naruto and the two feel a sense of connection. But nothing more is discussed between them and the person disappears. Who was that mysterious figure? And for what reason did he approach Naruto? Episode 13 Original title: "Haku's secret technique - Demonic Mirror Ice Crystals" Dub title: "Haku's Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirrors" Once again, the time has come to fight Zabuza and this time he's got company, the tracker ninja who initially defeated him. Zabuza and his companion take notice of Sasuke's abilities, and Sasuke in turn realizes the immense power that the masked ninja holds. As if they were meant to fight each other, Sasuke and the masked ninja begin their battle. At the same time, Gatoh's henchmen intrude Tazuna's home to take Tsunami as a hostage. Inari can only shiver in fear as his own mother is about to be abducted before his eyes. But the young child remembers the words of Naruto and decides to resist the perpetrators with all of his courage. Episode 14 Original title: "Number one surprising nature, Naruto joins the battle" Dub title: "The Number One Hyperactive, Knucklehead Ninja Joins the Fight!" Sasuke faces a pinch inside of Haku's Crystal Ice Mirrors, but Naruto comes to the rescue. Although Sasuke has a plan to counter Crystal Ice Mirrors with attacks from both the inside and outside the technique's realm, Naruto's unexpected action ruins Sasuke's strategy. Eventually, both young Ninja get trapped in Haku's jutsu. Naruto and Sasuke cannot do anything against Haku's incredible speed inside Crystal Ice Mirrors. Haku gets his intense powers from having a rare condition called Kekkai Genkai (bloodline limit). Episode 15 Original title: "Battle in zero visibility - The Sharingan crumbles" Dub title: "Zero Visibility: The Sharingan Shatters" Kakashi understands the situation of the battle. For a ninja, battle experience is an absolute necessity and Naruto and Sasuke lack the experience to defeat Haku, who has fought numerous battles alongside Zabuza. Realizing time is of the essence, Kakashi decides to use Sharingan once again to defeat Zabuza. But Zabuza dismisses Kakashi by claiming that Sharingan will no longer work against him. Zabuza is a ninja that has also experienced many killing fields. From his first encounter against the Sharingan, Zabuza has already devised a strategy against it. What is the "strategy" that Zabuza takes? Episode 16 Original title: "The released seal" Dub title: "The Broken Seal" Naruto and Sasuke continue to receive punishing attacks under Haku's Crystal Ice Mirrors. By this point, Naruto can no longer stand on his feet. But during the intense battle, Sasuke starts to realize the power of Sharingan within himself and gradually starts to avoid Haku's assault. Sasuke's ability to blossom his powers under the line of fire surprises Haku. Determining that the advantage would shift in favor of Sasuke if the match lasts any longer, Haku decides to finish them off immediately. Sasuke prepares for Haku's onslaught, but the masked ninja's target is actually the wounded Naruto. Sasuke is caught off guard by Haku's action and uses his own body to shield Naruto. Episode 17 Original title: "White past - Hidden feelings" Dub title: "White Past: Hidden Ambition" Naruto finally explodes! His anger against Haku, who defeated Sasuke, unleashes the power of the Nine-tailed Fox that was sealed deep within. Naruto's Chakra becomes so intense that even Kakashi and Zabuza, fighting off in the distance, take notice. Haku is unable to do anything in the face of Naruto's hidden power. Understanding that there is no chance of victory now, Haku implores Naruto to finish him off. Haku believes that he can only answer Zabuza's expectations by winning, and now in the face of defeat, he loses his own self-worth. Naruto painfully understands Haku's strong loyalty to Zabuza and struggles to put an end to his enemy. Episode 18 Original title: "The tools called Shinobi" Dub title: "The Weapons Known as Shinobi" Haku tells the hesitant Naruto to finish him off. Naruto strongly questions Haku's philosophy that his sole purpose for existence is to fight and win. He questions it, even if he understands deep inside that it was the "way of a ninja". Meanwhile, the battle between Kakashi and Zabuza approaches the climax. Zabuza's movement is restrained by Kakashi's "Kuchiyose No Jutsu" (summoning technique). With victory within his grasp, Kakashi unleashes his most devastating maneuver, Lightning Blade, against Zabuza. At the last moment, a body protects Zabuza and it is none other than the injured Haku. Episode 19 Original title: "Zabuza disperses into the snow..." Dub title: "The Demon in the Snow" Thinking of Haku, Naruto angrily confronts Zabuza. Even though he appears to have no emotion, Zabuza actually sheds tears at the death of his partner. The loss of Haku devastates Zabuza, taking away the only person he could trust in the world. Naruto learns that this kind of cruel reality is indeed the fate of a ninja. Episode 20 Original title: "Breaking into a new chapter! It's the Chūnin exam" Dub title: "A New Chapter Begins: The Chunin Exam!" Naruto and his team return to the Leaf after their battle in the Land of Waves. Even though they complete new missions that are assigned to them, Naruto is not satisfied with the daily routine. Traveling beyond the village for the first time and engaging in a fierce battle against Zabuza and Haku, his view of the world expanded and he gained the understanding that there are countless powerful enemies waiting in their path. Naruto becomes restless, as he complains that these types of missions are not going to make him stronger. But soon after, he learns that outsiders are gradually arriving in the Leaf Village. They are individuals, chosen as representatives of each village to participate in the "Chunin Exam." Episode 21 Original title: "Identify yourselves! The formidable enemies who have appeared!!" Dub title: "Identify Yourself: Powerful New Rivals" The Leaf Village decides to choose representatives of their own for the Chunin (middle rank ninja) Qualification Exam. Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are among those who are chosen to take the examination. But Iruka vehemently opposes the participation of Naruto and his team. He argues that the members are too young and lack the adequate level of experience and skills for the challenge. There are even rookie teams in the test that already passed it once before and refined their skills since then. Iruka understands very well that passing the test will not be easy for the three. He questions Kakashi, who recommended the three for the test, if he is willing to jeopardize the young ninjas' potential while they are still not ready for the test. But Kakashi states clearly that they have grown and are more than ready. Episode 22 Original title: "Fighting spirit 120% A trendy, rocking challenge" Dub title: "Chunin Challenge: Rock Lee vs. Sasuke!" As Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura prepare for the examination, a Ninja with short bobbed hair and thick eyebrows named Rock Lee appears. Lee then proceeds to challenge Sasuke to a duel. Lee wants to fight Sasuke, who holds the power of the Uchiha tribe. Sasuke accepts Lee's challenge, but his opponent attacks with such quickness that he can only stay in defense. Sasuke uses Sharingan to decipher what kind of technique Lee is using. But for some reason, he is unable to perceive the moves even, with his Sharingan. As Sasuke struggles with Lee's maneuvers, he at last realizes the opponent's strength lies in his Taijutsu ability. Episode 23 Original title: "Defeat the rivals! The Rookie Nine all gathered" Dub title: "Genin Takedown! All Nine Rookies Face Off!" Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura officially register for the Chuunin Test. In this examination, three ninjas form a team and in order to pass, not a single member is allowed to fail. Teamwork becomes absolutely vital for success in this test. When they enter the exam room, there are already many others waiting to take the test. Naruto and his team are almost overwhelmed by the atmosphere, as they encounter many others who are chasing a similar dream. In the room, Naruto meets one of the participants, a ninja named Kabuto Yakushi. He has taken the test many times and even though he kept on failing it, he has collected an expansive record on those who are taking the exam. Naruto's team takes a look at Kabuto's information and discovers that those who are taking the test have considerable skills and are elite ninjas who carry the honor of their villages. Episode 24 Original title: "Suddenly disqualified? The super-difficult first exam" Dub title: "Start your engines: The Chunin exam begins" Naruto and his team begin the first exam, a written paper test. The exam proctor is a special Jonin (upper rank ninja) named Ibiki Morino, who is an infamous expert in interrogation. Sasuke and Sakura are worried that if Naruto answers all of the questions wrong, they themselves will fail the test. The first exam tests the intelligence gathering skills of the students. The exam calls for the students to cheat in answering the difficult questions without being caught by the examination officials. Episode 25 Original title: "I'll gamble as the dice are thrown! The 10th question I must hold out on" Dub title: "The Tenth Question: All or Nothing" The hardest part of the first exam comes in Question 10. The consequence of answering wrong means that the path to becoming a Chunin will be taken away forever. Episode 26 Original title: "Absolutely worth seeing! Report just before the Forest of Death! It's the Konoha school newspaper!" Dub title: "Special Report: Live From the Forest of Death" Konohamaru, the grandson of Leaf Village's Third Hokage, shows up at the Chunin Exam site. He comes along with Moegi and Udon to cover the events for the Ninja Academy's school newspaper. Konohamaru looks up to Naruto like an older brother and through interviews with the characters, recaps their adventures thus far. There are voice clips in all of Ninja Garu's weekly discussion on the dubs. The voice actors are listed in the thread of that title. Where to obtain episodes are listed in the thread of that title. |

Missing-nin was changed? I thought I heard Kakashi say missing-nin to Naruto about Zabuza. Oh, well; I'll change it now. Thanks.  Clips for most of the characters would be a fantastic addition, maybe in a putfile upload; than users won't have to download at all, if thats alright. |

Tracker ninja = Hunter-nin, not missing-nin. Garu got the two mixed up. Also, there are like around 30 characters up to now. And you can only put up to 5 attachments per post. So Garu, you're going to make 6 posts of these voice clips? And what the hell is the putfile upload? |

Uzumaki Naruto" Dub title: “Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!” Welcome to the Village Hidden in the Leaves, where deadly serious Ninja roam the landscape, the seriously mischievous Naruto Uzumaki causes trouble everywhere he goes. And this year again, he fails the graduation test. Then one day, the ancient scroll of sealing is stolen. The culprit who takes the book happens to be Naruto. Episode 2 Original title: “I am Konohamaru!" Dub title: "My Name is Konohamaru!" Throughout the generations, the elder of the Konoha Village has been called "Hokage" and only those who have refined and mastered their skills, body and soul as a Ninja can attain this position. The current Hokage Sarutobi is the third in the line of the leaders and he has a grandson named Konohamaru. Naruto finally graduates from the Ninja Academy and claims to know it all. Well, at least that what he tells Konohamaru, the Village elder's pint-size grandson. He meets Konohamaru when he submits his official registration as a Ninja. Konohamaru starts calling Naruto "Boss" and follows him wherever he goes. This is because Naruto is the only one who does not give special treatment to Konohamaru, since he is the grandson of the Hokage. Much to the dismay of Ebisu, Konohamaru's teacher and mentor, Naruto teaches him the hormonally lethal "Sexy Jutsu!" Konohamaru wants to become a Hokage as soon as possible to earn respect from everybody. Episode 3 Original title: "Old enemies!? Sasuke and Sakura" Dub title: "Sasuke and Sakura: Friends or Foes?" Naruto, who has finally become a Ninja, forms a team with two others to complete a mission. His teammates are Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. On the way to becoming a ninja, Naruto must team up with the pretty Sakura and the pretty serious Sasuke, whose only common bond is that they both hate Naruto. Naruto has a giant crush on the pretty Sakura, but she only pays attention to Sasuke. Unlike Naruto, Sasuke is not only cool and good looking, he is a ninja with considerable skills. Naruto tries to win Sakura over by pretending to be Sasuke! Episode 4 Original title: "Test! Survival practice" Dub title: "Pass or Fail: Survival Test" Now that Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are a team, they meet with their sensei, the enigmatic and aloof Kakashi. He shows up late and even gets caught in one of Naruto's tricks. But then, he presents to them a survival challenge where only two of them will pass, sending the failing student back to the Ninja Academy! The three young Ninjas are frightened when they hear that those who fail the test will be sent back to the Academy. Too bad they don't know that Kakashi's never passes anyone! Episode 5 Original title: "Disqualification? Kakashi's conclusion" Dub title: "You Failed! Kakashi's Final Decision" The test initiated by Kakashi is an overwhelming one. The Kakashi that is now standing in front of Naruto and his teammates is no longer the same aloof person they had seen before. He easily deflects a serious attack by Naruto. And even Sasuke is no match for Kakashi. As for Sakura, she can't even figure out what to do. The three young Ninjas realize that the difference between Jonin (upper rank ninja) Ninja Kakashi's true powers and their own is like heaven and earth. There is nothing that they can do and if this keeps going on, all three will be sent back to the Academy. While Naruto and others start becoming desperate, Kakashi actually wants to teach something important to the three in this test. With the threat of failure hanging over their heads, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura do everything they know how to pass the grueling survival test. But it will take some wise advice from Kakashi to teach these selfish ninja a thing or two about teamwork! Episode 6 Original title: "Important mission! Super-departure to the Land of Waves!" Dub title: "A Dangerous Mission! Journey to the Land of Waves!" Naruto and his partners are granted the right to receive missions as ninjas. But in the beginning, they start their first ninja missions with boring and menial tasks, such as finding missing cats. Naruto becomes weary and angry of the situation and finally vents his anger and frustration towards the Third Hokage. Amused by Naruto's excitement, Hokage realizes the boy's strong desire to do something and decides to give the team a more important mission. The new assignment is to protect a grumpy old man named Tazuna as he returns to his native land called the Land of Waves. Episode 7 Original title: "Assassin of the Mist!" Dub title: "The Assassin of the Mist!" Naruto and his squad arrive in the Land of Waves and learn that an evil businessman named Gato has taken over the land. The assailants that they confronted earlier were sent by Gato to take Tazuna's life. Zabuza Momochi, who is also hired by Gato and infamous for his "Silent Killing,” appears to kill Tazuna. Excited and ready to attack, Naruto can't wait to take on this powerful ninja assassin, but Kakashi warns the young ninja that he would be no match against Zabuza. Episode 8 Original title: "Decision sworn on pain" Dub title: "The Oath of Pain" Kakashi goes behind the back of Zabuza and points the tip of his blade right on the edge of the enemy's throat. It appears as if Kakashi secures the victory by shutting down Zabuza's movement from the back, but that body is actually a dummy created by "Water Clone!” Kakashi has the upper hand against Zabuza in their battle, but in an instant, the momentum of the battle shifts. Soon, the tide turns as Kakashi is trapped inside Zabuza's Water Prison! Only Naruto and the young Ninjas can protect Tazuna now. Naruto and Sasuke's attacks have no effect against the powerful Zabuza. Kakashi urges the squad to flee, but Naruto remembers the pledge he made on his left hand - to never run away again - and holds his ground by gathering all of his courage. Episode 9 Original title: "Sharingan Kakashi" Dub title: "Kakashi: Sharingan Warrior!" Thanks to Naruto's ingenious plan, Kakashi is freed from the water prison. The time he has arrived to unleash the true power of Sharingan. Kakashi duplicates Zabuza's move, Explosive Water Wave in an instant and hits Zabuza with his own move. Sharingan allows Kakashi to read Zabuza's actions before they happen and furthermore, launch Zabuza's own moves with more destructive power. Zabuza suffers critical damage to his body at the hands of Sharingan. Kakashi is about to finish off his enemy, but in a blink of an eye, Senbon needles suddenly pierce the body of Zabuza. A mysterious tracker ninja shows up and kills Zabuza before Kakashi can. Naruto is shocked that a boy, not much older than he, was able to defeat Zabusa so easily. Episode 10 Original title: "Forest of chakra" Dub title: "The Forest of Chakra" After the ordeal, Naruto and his teammates finally reach Tazuna's house. Recuperating at Tazuna's house, Kakashi temporarily loses his ability to move after completely exhausting his stamina from using the Sharingan. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura have an air of confidence and the sense of relief after the disposing of Zabuza. However, Kakashi is unsatisfied with the outcome of the battle. A tracker ninja would usually eliminate any remains of the ninja that he killed, but why did that boy take home the body of Zabuza? Kakashi concludes that Zabusa isn't dead and the young tracking ninja helped Zabuza escape! Naruto and his team cannot hide their shock when they learn that Zabuza may indeed be still alive. After informing the three young Ninjas of this news, Kakashi decides to implement some interesting training that will allow Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura to better control their chakra in a short span of time. Episode 11 Original title: "The country that had a hero" Dub title: "The Land Where a Hero Once Lived" Sakura goes out to town with Tazuna and discovers the hardship that the people of Land of Waves suffer under Gato's rule. It is because of this reason that Tazuna risks his life building a bridge that crosses the ocean. He believes that by constructing a bridge, people will no longer have to rely on Gato, who controls the maritime transportation. Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuke are working hard on their training of using chakra to climb up a tree. When the two return from the forest to Tazuna's house, they are worn out from their intense training. But a child named Inari gives them a cold stare and dismisses their hard work by saying that they have no chance of winning against Gato. Inari's foster father Kaiza, who he admired deeply, had been executed by Gato. Episode 12 Original title: "Decisive battle on the bridge! Zabuza once more!!" Dub title: "Battle on the Bridge! Zabuza Returns!" While Naruto concentrates on the training to control his Chakra, a mysterious person suddenly appears before him. The person tells Naruto that as long as one has the desire to protect what he loves, there is no limit to becoming stronger. The mysterious figure echoes the sentiment inside Naruto and the two feel a sense of connection. But nothing more is discussed between them and the person disappears. Who was that mysterious figure? And for what reason did he approach Naruto? Episode 13 Original title: "Haku's secret technique - Demonic Mirror Ice Crystals" Dub title: "Haku's Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirrors" Once again, the time has come to fight Zabuza and this time he's got company, the tracker ninja who initially defeated him. Zabuza and his companion take notice of Sasuke's abilities, and Sasuke in turn realizes the immense power that the masked ninja holds. As if they were meant to fight each other, Sasuke and the masked ninja begin their battle. At the same time, Gatoh's henchmen intrude Tazuna's home to take Tsunami as a hostage. Inari can only shiver in fear as his own mother is about to be abducted before his eyes. But the young child remembers the words of Naruto and decides to resist the perpetrators with all of his courage. Episode 14 Original title: "Number one surprising nature, Naruto joins the battle" Dub title: "The Number One Hyperactive, Knucklehead Ninja Joins the Fight!" Sasuke faces a pinch inside of Haku's Crystal Ice Mirrors, but Naruto comes to the rescue. Although Sasuke has a plan to counter Crystal Ice Mirrors with attacks from both the inside and outside the technique's realm, Naruto's unexpected action ruins Sasuke's strategy. Eventually, both young Ninja get trapped in Haku's jutsu. Naruto and Sasuke cannot do anything against Haku's incredible speed inside Crystal Ice Mirrors. Haku gets his intense powers from having a rare condition called Kekkai Genkai (bloodline limit). Episode 15 Original title: "Battle in zero visibility - The Sharingan crumbles" Dub title: "Zero Visibility: The Sharingan Shatters" Kakashi understands the situation of the battle. For a ninja, battle experience is an absolute necessity and Naruto and Sasuke lack the experience to defeat Haku, who has fought numerous battles alongside Zabuza. Realizing time is of the essence, Kakashi decides to use Sharingan once again to defeat Zabuza. But Zabuza dismisses Kakashi by claiming that Sharingan will no longer work against him. Zabuza is a ninja that has also experienced many killing fields. From his first encounter against the Sharingan, Zabuza has already devised a strategy against it. What is the "strategy" that Zabuza takes? Episode 16 Original title: "The released seal" Dub title: "The Broken Seal" Naruto and Sasuke continue to receive punishing attacks under Haku's Crystal Ice Mirrors. By this point, Naruto can no longer stand on his feet. But during the intense battle, Sasuke starts to realize the power of Sharingan within himself and gradually starts to avoid Haku's assault. Sasuke's ability to blossom his powers under the line of fire surprises Haku. Determining that the advantage would shift in favor of Sasuke if the match lasts any longer, Haku decides to finish them off immediately. Sasuke prepares for Haku's onslaught, but the masked ninja's target is actually the wounded Naruto. Sasuke is caught off guard by Haku's action and uses his own body to shield Naruto. Episode 17 Original title: "White past - Hidden feelings" Dub title: "White Past: Hidden Ambition" Naruto finally explodes! His anger against Haku, who defeated Sasuke, unleashes the power of the Nine-tailed Fox that was sealed deep within. Naruto's Chakra becomes so intense that even Kakashi and Zabuza, fighting off in the distance, take notice. Haku is unable to do anything in the face of Naruto's hidden power. Understanding that there is no chance of victory now, Haku implores Naruto to finish him off. Haku believes that he can only answer Zabuza's expectations by winning, and now in the face of defeat, he loses his own self-worth. Naruto painfully understands Haku's strong loyalty to Zabuza and struggles to put an end to his enemy. Episode 18 Original title: "The tools called Shinobi" Dub title: "The Weapons Known as Shinobi" Haku tells the hesitant Naruto to finish him off. Naruto strongly questions Haku's philosophy that his sole purpose for existence is to fight and win. He questions it, even if he understands deep inside that it was the "way of a ninja". Meanwhile, the battle between Kakashi and Zabuza approaches the climax. Zabuza's movement is restrained by Kakashi's "Kuchiyose No Jutsu" (summoning technique). With victory within his grasp, Kakashi unleashes his most devastating maneuver, Lightning Blade, against Zabuza. At the last moment, a body protects Zabuza and it is none other than the injured Haku. Episode 19 Original title: "Zabuza disperses into the snow..." Dub title: "The Demon in the Snow" Thinking of Haku, Naruto angrily confronts Zabuza. Even though he appears to have no emotion, Zabuza actually sheds tears at the death of his partner. The loss of Haku devastates Zabuza, taking away the only person he could trust in the world. Naruto learns that this kind of cruel reality is indeed the fate of a ninja. Episode 20 Original title: "Breaking into a new chapter! It's the Chūnin exam" Dub title: "A New Chapter Begins: The Chunin Exam!" Naruto and his team return to the Leaf after their battle in the Land of Waves. Even though they complete new missions that are assigned to them, Naruto is not satisfied with the daily routine. Traveling beyond the village for the first time and engaging in a fierce battle against Zabuza and Haku, his view of the world expanded and he gained the understanding that there are countless powerful enemies waiting in their path. Naruto becomes restless, as he complains that these types of missions are not going to make him stronger. But soon after, he learns that outsiders are gradually arriving in the Leaf Village. They are individuals, chosen as representatives of each village to participate in the "Chunin Exam." Episode 21 Original title: "Identify yourselves! The formidable enemies who have appeared!!" Dub title: "Identify Yourself: Powerful New Rivals" The Leaf Village decides to choose representatives of their own for the Chunin (middle rank ninja) Qualification Exam. Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are among those who are chosen to take the examination. But Iruka vehemently opposes the participation of Naruto and his team. He argues that the members are too young and lack the adequate level of experience and skills for the challenge. There are even rookie teams in the test that already passed it once before and refined their skills since then. Iruka understands very well that passing the test will not be easy for the three. He questions Kakashi, who recommended the three for the test, if he is willing to jeopardize the young ninjas' potential while they are still not ready for the test. But Kakashi states clearly that they have grown and are more than ready. Episode 22 Original title: "Fighting spirit 120% A trendy, rocking challenge" Dub title: "Chunin Challenge: Rock Lee vs. Sasuke!" As Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura prepare for the examination, a Ninja with short bobbed hair and thick eyebrows named Rock Lee appears. Lee then proceeds to challenge Sasuke to a duel. Lee wants to fight Sasuke, who holds the power of the Uchiha tribe. Sasuke accepts Lee's challenge, but his opponent attacks with such quickness that he can only stay in defense. Sasuke uses Sharingan to decipher what kind of technique Lee is using. But for some reason, he is unable to perceive the moves even, with his Sharingan. As Sasuke struggles with Lee's maneuvers, he at last realizes the opponent's strength lies in his Taijutsu ability. Episode 23 Original title: "Defeat the rivals! The Rookie Nine all gathered" Dub title: "Genin Takedown! All Nine Rookies Face Off!" Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura officially register for the Chuunin Test. In this examination, three ninjas form a team and in order to pass, not a single member is allowed to fail. Teamwork becomes absolutely vital for success in this test. When they enter the exam room, there are already many others waiting to take the test. Naruto and his team are almost overwhelmed by the atmosphere, as they encounter many others who are chasing a similar dream. In the room, Naruto meets one of the participants, a ninja named Kabuto Yakushi. He has taken the test many times and even though he kept on failing it, he has collected an expansive record on those who are taking the exam. Naruto's team takes a look at Kabuto's information and discovers that those who are taking the test have considerable skills and are elite ninjas who carry the honor of their villages. Episode 24 Original title: "Suddenly disqualified? The super-difficult first exam" Dub title: "Start your engines: The Chunin exam begins" Naruto and his team begin the first exam, a written paper test. The exam proctor is a special Jonin (upper rank ninja) named Ibiki Morino, who is an infamous expert in interrogation. Sasuke and Sakura are worried that if Naruto answers all of the questions wrong, they themselves will fail the test. The first exam tests the intelligence gathering skills of the students. The exam calls for the students to cheat in answering the difficult questions without being caught by the examination officials. Episode 25 Original title: "I'll gamble as the dice are thrown! The 10th question I must hold out on" Dub title: "The Tenth Question: All or Nothing" The hardest part of the first exam comes in Question 10. The consequence of answering wrong means that the path to becoming a Chunin will be taken away forever. Episode 26 Original title: "Absolutely worth seeing! Report just before the Forest of Death! It's the Konoha school newspaper!" Dub title: "Special Report: Live From the Forest of Death" Konohamaru, the grandson of Leaf Village's Third Hokage, shows up at the Chunin Exam site. He comes along with Moegi and Udon to cover the events for the Ninja Academy's school newspaper. Konohamaru looks up to Naruto like an older brother and through interviews with the characters, recaps their adventures thus far.
