which do YOU think is stronger...Rinnegan Or Sharingan?

Didn't Jiraiya say "of the 3 great eye techniques, they are without question the most powerful."

Seems pretty definate to me, and it's not about what Jiraiya knows about them or not, this is obviously something passed down in shinobi history not just an assumption Jiraiya made as don't forget he knows pretty much nothing about the Rinnegan's abilties so he wouldn't say they're the most powerful if it was just his own opinion because he doesn't know enough about them to make that judgement.

However just because they're a more powerful eye it doesn't mean Pain is stronger than Madara as it's all down to the user as much as anything, you could give one person a machine gun and someone else a pistol but if the one with the more powerful weapon doesn't know how to use it or comes up against someone who's a weapons expert then they're still gonna end up dead, so if Madara has a greater understanding and grasp of his power then he probably is stronger than Pain, doesn't make Sharingan number 1 though.

Be careful with the if and only if logic. That biconditional statement does not work here. Here's why:

(=>) If a user's doujutsu is at a max in its power and its ferocity, then the user is good at exploring it.

This makes sense obviously because the user has perfected their skill.

(<=) If a user is good at exploring their doujutsu, then the power and ferocity of their doujutsu is at a max.

This doesn't work. Itachi is clearly an expert in his doujutsu, but yet he wants Sasuke for EMS. Same went for Madara before the eye gouging of his brother's eyes and Neji before the time skip who clearly improved upon his jutsu in part 2.

I think it depends on who is using it, like I imagine Minato was better at using the Rasengan then Naruto and Jiraiya. As Madara is probably more adept with the Sharingan then Sasuke and Itachi.

That is speculation. You have no proof in your claim that Rinnegan is stronger.

no consequences? the ms even eternal still uses MASSIVE amounts of chakra, while what weve seen from the rinnegan is that its pretty much a permanent doujutsu that stays on all the time(similar to itachi's regular sharingan)

not impressed with rinnegan's power? 1 body completely absorbed ANy damage, 1 body can summon a multitude of creatures, the others werent said what abilities they have but even besides that the rinnegan allows the user to learn ALL elements quite easily and they can see through eachothers eyes

huge weakness to the sharingan is it can only be used on who it sees...u cant see 6 people at once unless they stand in a straight line which no half smart ninja would do

To who ever says you have no proof its the strongest, you clearly dont read the manga all to clearly.

It's called paradigm. We see it all the time in real world and that's probably what happened with Jiraiya.

There's a history with the rinnegan much older than the sharingan, and to few knowledge about that doujutsu. That's the perfect candidate for speculation and a probable creation of a paradigm. Maybe that's what have happened in Narutoverse.

That car thing is a bad example, oh and though they are incredible they are not the best cars in the world only a few are.

You need to read up on who Jiraiya is.

Jiraiya is without a doubt one of the best ninja around, how do you know if he doesnt know anything about them? I think he knows alot about them.

No but atleast i actually produce proof that is in the manga to back the rin'negan up.#

But Jiraiya was a well informed man and by far one of the greatest shinobi.

He was trained by the 3rd and went to the toad mountain.

The 3rd was trained by the 1st and 2nd, i assume they would know something about it then passing that knowledge onto the 3rd.

And i assume even more that the toads, especially the great toad sage, knew about the rin'negan. He even told jiraiya about the eyes right?

there are no hidden meanings in this manga...when are people gonna learn that? if were told something then its a FACT there is no "well the kishi wrote this but thats obviously not true" thats never been the case and now people think it is just cuz they dont want to admit the rinn is better than the sharingan?

as for sharingan being stronger cuz madara is the leader...have u ever thought it doesnt have ANYTHING to do with the eyes? look at madara fighting naruto or against sasuke how EVERY attack goes straight through him, have u all stopped to consider THATS why pein is taking orders from him? rinn>sharingan means nothing if u cant scratch the sharingan user

First of all, Tobi/Madara IS the sharingan for story purposes. His main goal is to acquire its true powers, he's been shown with it and talkin about it alot; so why else would someone fear Tobi/Madara other than his ability to wield the sharingan. Since you want to speculate about Tobi/Madara's ability to become entangable; but have you ever thought that it was genjutsu, since he's of course a sharingan user? Granted I'm speculating too, but this level of genjutsu wouldnt be outside the scope of the sharingan's ability, especially if it was wielded by someone with Madara's skill.


As for the debate of whether the rinnegan is stronger than the sharingan, or vice versa; just because Jiraya stated a legend he heard about the rinnegan
being the most powerful of the three doujutsus doesnt neccessarily make it so. Not to mention the fact that Jiraya isnt aware of the true abilities of the sharingan, so his statement is ill-informed. I'm not tryin to doubt the J-Man, but he said something he THOUGHT was true, based on what he knew.

QFT. Why the heck are people constantly second guessing direct statements from the manga in a manga which has never once been in the least bit tricky with its statements?

When a character is wrong about something, you'll find out almost immediately. If you don't, then he's not wrong. People need to wrap their heads around this.

as of now i see sharingan is more powerful than rin'negan in terms of doujutsu and all... to be honest i dont see a single doujutsu used when pain and jiraiya fought...
