from a list of 1-10 (or how ever many akatsuki members they are or were) 1 being the strongest and 10 being the weakest

itachi,pein,Mandara.Orochimaru ,Sasori.Kakuzu as S class rank

Kisame,Deidara,Hidan A class rank

The other left:zetzu??,konan,class B

That's how i class them for now

but generally kakashi or Jiraiya(not sure) already mentioned about the akatsuki that most of them are S criminals

if you want the strongest one it's Mandara,
the weakest would be konan ,or Zetzu since we didn't saw any of them in a real fight

the Akatsuki can be ranked as S class ,since there is not weak among them all what matter is their unique ability in each member which gave them advantage in many things

1.pain(has the rinegan and killed tanzo and Jiraiya whom itachi + kisame were scared of)
2.itachi(mangekyu sharingan)
3-Oro(he has immortality and unique jutsus)
3.kisame(a shark boy with huge load of chakra)
4.hidan (can detatch his body)
5.Deidara (his explotion arts were not match to gaara)
6.Sasori( you should be power ,losing to 2 girl lower your rank )
7.kakuzu(he can't die physicaly)
8.konan (she still quite for now)
9.zetsu(reporter rather than a fighter)

9.Madara( i cam put it in the first list but still know his true potentiel ,but he got a great talent being responsible for all of this so let be the last one for now)

Don't know why... But i think Pein would kick Madaras ass and that the real Nagato might be another level. "the real one isnt with them" or something like that. the 6 Bodies are some kind of puppets, which were controlled by Nagatos mind.

"im a little crappy emo"-rank ist the lowest of the lowest rank. It is like "You suck"-rank and "Get out of the manga"-rank, only a little worse.

And Orochimaru is a comeback talent. I think we might see him again...

madara (hes lived for hundreds of years and was considered like the 2nd strongest among the huge ninja wars)
pein (takes orders from madara which is why hes 2nd)
itachi (MS, susano, etc)
sasuke (stronger than all the other akatsuki members but not stronger than itachi so i put him right below itachi)
zetsu (hes like madara's partner...to be as fast as madara's teleportation and able to disappear at any moments notice...i think hed be strong as hell in a fight cuz ud never know when or where ur gonna be hit from)
konan (being pein's partner she must be strong, i doubt hed keep someone weak around, i mean he killed the other friend so i doubt hed keep her around for sentimental reasons)
sasori (he only lost cuz someone who was a puppet master that trained him was able to figure out his secret)
kisame(hes got the strength of naruto-sized chakra reserve and was able to solo a jinchuri)
oro(hes oro? paralyzing crap would be strong as hell)
dd(cell sized bombs)
kakuzu(taking peoples hearts and using every ele)
hidan(unkillable and able to link his pain with other people)
rest team hebi(they all seem weak as hell compared to any other akatsuki)

I don't really think you can just list them, as Naruto's never followed the whole 'A beats B, B beats C, so A must also be able to beat C' thing. It would depend on the match ups. So, I'll just rank them in who I think would be able to fight well in most situations (Overall power or something).

1. Madara/Pain (Pain is valid, and that's because his bodies give him a great counter to everything. Madara is only there because he's the leader. He has to be strong. They share spot because, well, we don't know who's the stronger one of the two)

2. Kakuzu (Had all elements at his disposal, was goddamn smart, was fast and strong as hell, only lost to cockiness and sudden stupidity)
3. Deidara (He basically fought a perfect counter in Sasuke, Tobi actually helped Sasuke, and it still ended with Sasuke having to be brought back with the help of Suigetsu. He was able to adapt, dammit)

4. Itachi (He's Itachi...)

5. Orochimaru (If he ever learns not to look directly into an Uchiha's eyes, he could do well even against them)

6. Sasori (His iron sand and his mass amount of puppets allow him to handle many situations. Likewise, his puppet body probably can't be put in Genjutsu, giving him an advantage against all Genjutsu users. Sad thing is, I'm biased here, as thoughts such as 'He got beat by a young girl and an old woman...' constantly invade my mind when thinking about him...)

7. Kisame (He simply has power, lots of it.)

8. Hidan (I think he did pretty well, actually. He just lost because Shikamaru was still alive and had gotten lots of time to think up a strategy. That and a well placed speed upgrade and new shadow taijtutsu thing kind spelled out doom for him and yayness for Shika)

9. Zetzu/Konan (Need to see more)

I just want to add, the people numbering 2-5 are extremely close to each other in my opinion, and I actually placed them pretty randomly. No wait, all of them are actually pretty close to each other. They're Akatsuki ffs. Also, I'm sure I'm gonna dislike this list sooner or later, since I always change my mind, but bah...

I already dislike this list now, but not gonna change it... I just don't think you can accurately rank them.

One thing i wanna point out is that how can u rank zetsu if u havent even seen him fight,
by means he may be even stronger than pein, u realy cant rank him last or high becaause u havent seen him fight or he can travel like tobi..

1.the person behind pain ( u know the one thats not really among the seven, i have a feeling madra may not even know about this person, madra is probably stronger than all 6 pain, but not the master mind behind pain,

2. madra i think he is stronger than pain, but like i said above he probably doesnt know pain's secret.

4. itachi- he defeated dd, kisame had respect for him and followed his every order, and i think he just stronger than any of the others.

5.oro- dude is fucking stronger, he went one on one with 4tail naruto that says alot

6.konan/zetsu- they seem like the superior of the others, but i havent seen them fight so....
