Did you sleep through the part where kakashi told the team to hurry and follow him to where sasuke was? How he told them they had to get there before tobi did?

They tried to get there as quick as they could.
If tobi waited around for zetsu to consume the body, kakashi and the gang would have definitely got there in time for a confrontation.

But i do believe tobi wanted itachis body for a paticular reason, i just cant put my finger on what, exactly.
His eyes maybe, who knows.

I really doubt it's that simple. I mean they all didn't start for Sasuke until the bettle was over, and they didn't know the battle was over till Zetsu told Madara, so technicly Zetsu could have eaten the bodya nd then went, but he didn't

Although I guess he had the priority of saving Sasuke for Madara, but none the less, Kishi wouldn't have stressed taking the body unless there was something important about it.

There's more to this than covering their tracks

All of Itachi's techniques that they could learn, are either jutsu he learned in Konoha, or jutsu he copied, but those are just normal techniques. The ones Konoha would be interested in are the Mangekyou techniques, and those are impossible to perform with the Mangekyou, which to people in Konoha, other than kakashi, are a mystery. most people, probably Tsunade included, don't even know of the Mangekyou Sharingan's existence, let alone that kakashi possesses one.

They couldn't do much with his body is what i'm getting at

and there's more to this than covering a trail thats impossible to follow anyway considering the way Madara and Zetsu travel

Even with the blind form of Itachi's MS couldnt you still control the Kyuubi if someone decided to put them into their head?

Maybe He wants to replace his other eye. The he could potentially use his current MS techniques, and the ones that itachi used

I have no evidence, It's just a guess

but again, that wouldn't explain him taking the entire body, he could have easily just taken the eyes.

Why not juss take his body, and then have n e time you want to do it while in a safe place.

And aren't itachi's eyes blind? Can he still use MS techniques like that? I guess so since susanoo carried on after they turned so.

his brother also had MS, yet his vision didn't suffer?

wasn't it explained? I think it did, someone correct me if i misremember but

MS gave the premiere Uchihas unsurpassed power and it's what they used to basically conquer everyone (except Shodai's clan)..

Madara became a drug-fiend jonesin off the power of MS whereas his brother did not.. and the more one used it, the faster their eyes deteriorated..

so that's why his brother was fine, he didn't abuse this power whereas Madara was a junky in need of his fix going on power-trips

dont think it is about chakra...thnk it is about EMS
the blood of itachi(plus the feeling shit) went only in that eye...means he have EMS/MS only in that eye(yes,ems,cause if was need both to have ms to get ems...itachi woudnt try to take sasuke non-ms eyes)
and the ems/ms of sasuke reacted to the first ms the same way kakashi ms/sharingan did....

i dont think he wanted to put his sharingan "on" i think he was unable to control it

Although if you are a tobito theorist, the specific eye on sasuke that changed is very intresting.
