I wasnt sure weather to post this in tobi discussion or what but I've just been re reading manga and i was dumbfounded over how much sasuke looks like madra's brother.
I was thinking and i know im pitching way outta field here but..... is it possible that madra is actually just trying to rez his brother and who better a vessel than someone whos unmistakably resembles his brother??

I don't understand how Itachi wanted to save his brother from Madara..
He just pushed Sasuke to his limit that he is too weak now and cannot defend himself against Madara

Scoober, Whers this evidence? We didn't see his face lol. We know he's madara, but we don't know if it's his body.

Anywho, after this chapter, i am very curiouse to why itachi helped extract the bijuu if he was trying to protect everything.

You know what this really doesn't make any sense. If Itachi cared about Sasuke WTH did he try to kill him with Amaterasu and Susanoo? Was it to make sure he was strong enough to kill Madara?

So Itachi joined Akatsuki to get close enough to Madara to kill him? Or did he join to protect the village by offering himself as a sacrifice?

I think he put his eye techniques into Sasuke because he realized he wasnt going to get his lil bro's eyes. In other words... I think he joined to get close to madara, seems more logical if he really was a "good guy" and wanted to "protect" the shinobi-world.

But i agree, what gives? Itachi actually used amaterasu on sasuke, im going to call it very lame if itachi knew it was a snake-replacement-thingy.

But yeh, like someone stated, maybe he made sasuke go all out to drive oro out of sasuke, cuz when oro came out he killed him instantly... oro didnt even get three pages or so

He did Put off capturing Naruto for the longest while. He couldve done it at any time

I dont think this is some big secret or surprise. We have already seen Jiraya put out Amaterasu. Why is it so surprising about Mandara been able to put it out as well?

1. like I always said, he has no intention of killing... by his standard, he was not trying hard enough, and he was weakened too... Madara is aware of his real intention (to give EMS to Sasuke) so he made Itachi injured before the fight... if Itachi won the fight, he will surely give his eye to Sasuke, in order to kill Madara since he failed to do so...


2. I think he was recruited by Madara to join Akatsuki... the reason, is to handle kyuubi... Itachi's MS is enough to handly Kyuubi (I think)... with Kisame assigned together with him, there is no way for Itachi to betray Akatsuki by talking to Naruto and tell the true story...

by protecting Naruto (avoided to capture him so many times), he indirectly failing Akatsuki's final target, and failing Madara's & Pain's true intention... he knows, Sasuke will not kill Naruto since he is sure Sasuke won't do that... that is why I think, he prepared himself for the fight TO WIN, but Madara interfered...

While I don't hate Itachi anymore this doesnt' change that Sasuke was essentially weaker then Itachi and had he been serious Sasuke would be dead.

Well I wasnt really saying that sasuke is stronger, only that itachi knows his capacity to become stronger is there. I agree with what you are saying 100%, I think I either misworded or you misinterpreted what I meant.

Either way, Itachi was stronger, but I think everyone Oro/madara etc know Sasuke has a higher potential... even tho I/they base that on speculation alone.

he thought that he had tricked madara into thinking he was evil, madara even says that itachi didnt know how much madara knew about him

also he never attacked sasuke with susanoo, he attacked oro and then blocked sasuke in with it

also with amaretsu i find it weird that he stop using it after it burned through the flames, my guess is because he could be sure it wouldnt hit sasuke, also he said that oro's technique was hard to detect, not impossible so he could have waited for sasuke to make his move with the second ameratsu because all he did was burn off his wing

madara even says that itachi wanted to kill him but the underlying reason was to keep sasuke away from him, the amaretsu technique shows that itachi just wanted to keep sasuke away from madara

I'm sure it wasn't in his plans for Madara to pick up Sasuke right after the battle.

how badass is Madara/Tobi whoever he is really is ... think about it.. he shadow-leads the single baddest group in history (Akatsuki), has a subservient God (Pain) ***AND*** lets an 'invincible" subordinate in Itachi work for him KNOWING that Itachi is really out to kill him

when you know the jutsu is absolute kill, and the only reason is to get the eye, but it still SLOWLY eat his wings (while it can burn a forest faster than that), you should he's not trying really hard...

dude, since when did the ameterasu "SLOWLY eat his wings"? his wings were gone in a matter of seconds. Thats not even the point, if ur actually hit by the amaterasu, its pretty much over for you, cant see someone gettin hit, and actually proceeding the fight.

the sharingan predicts movements and detects changes in chakra
itachi said the replacement technique was hard to detect not impossible

we know for a fact that itachi wasnt trying to kill sasuke in fact he was doing the exact opposite and protecting him by any means neccesary
