its already been around for 11 years, if oda can keep the quality going for another 15 i say why not only thing is i'll be pretty old in 15 yrs and reading manga at that age will be kinda embarassing to say the least. But tbh i can't see it finishing in at least 5-8 yrs since there's still so much to do and the SH's level is still so poor compared to the big beasts

Hahahaahaha your post made me laugh, i talked with my friend some time ago when does he think One Piece is gonna end and he said that his wife is probably gonna be giving birth to their second child and hes still gonna be watching it xD. He was single and 18 when he made that comment xD and by the looks of it his prediction is gonna become a reality hehehehehe

Its like you said earlier. We are 500 chapters into this story and its like it hasn't even started.

uMMMMMMMMMM to be honest it not the first time i had this "it feels like this is the start" type feeling in this manga. I remember i felt like that right after the louge town arc when the crew where first declearing there goals for the grand line, then again in jaya right before the trip to the sky Island. Im having that feeling agian now right before fishman island. I kinda love that feeling about this story, it really shows the growth and diffence in pirate level and difficalty of the seas. It makes you feel like every think up until this point was a walk in the park, even thogh you know the sh went throgh hell to get to the next step in there journy. when i was reading luffy vs croc i said to my self damn this guys a beast, how can there be any one stronger them him. Then i said the same when we saw eneru, then i said the same with ao kinji and then with lucchi, marina and finally now with ki zaru. Raylieght said it best, the grand line well continue to suprise you. I must admit that im supried to have the feeling of, " wow they still have so far to go, and wow this feel like the true start of the story" even after 500 chapters. Oda must have eaten the crative creative fruit because he make this story feel as fresh as when i first picked it up. One of my favorite thing about one piece is that the world feels alive, you always feel like the straw hats live in this world, and that the world dosn't revovl around them. Almost any pirate crew are marian group could have there own equal as great story, if they where the main characters. Because every one is going for the same goal its more interesting. Can you imagine how great naruto would be if they had four people shooting to be hokage, well one piece has an unpresadented amount of pirates all trying to find one piece. I also love how as the sh get closer to there goal they get to see more and more rivals and meet more and more interesting people along the way. Every thing feel interconnected becasue every one is after the same thing in one way are another.

Even better is that all of it seems pretty well planned out too.
I mean, somewhere after the arlong arc, think its going on in the arabasta arc (not quite sure) we see the story of how hachi and camie met. Then hundreds of chapters later, guess who shows up.. thats right, hachi and camie (spelling?).

uMMMMMMMMM there so many things like that in this manga, coby, laboon, konus, hell shanks. Thing dont just disappear in one piece. (except for that girl that kuma touched.)

The shanks storyline is the most unresolved and probably my favorite part of the manga. Its part of the backbone of the story and he's moving that plotline along perfectly. I can't wait to see how he gets luffy and shanks into a confrontation.

When coby said he wanted to be an admiral and fight luffy I knew One Piece was far from over.

highly unlikely there'll be a full fledged confrontation. Shanks is the closest thing he had to a father type figure and the person he looks up to most in the world. If anything Zoro would prob want to fight Shanks if he knows how good he is with the sword.

Should be interesting how Oda plays this when the time comes because if there's one crew in the new world who Luffy could consider to be full of nakama it is Shanks one and yet Shanks also wants to be PK may be a friendly rivalry. Also Usopp's father is also on that crew.

but it will be very diff from the previous confrontations with schibukai, cp 9 fights etc where Luffy was serious. I can't see Luffy being able to have that game face on against Shanks for obvious reasons and the same logic would apply to Shanks cannot see him getting himself pepped up to fight Luffy.

I cant fight 'till this arc is over and they enter the new world. Hopefully we'll see smoker, tashigi and their new crew. Havent seen the guy since arabasta and a glimse later on.

uMMMMMMMMM i once believed in a pirate summit, but it just turned out to be a bad translation. I am looking forward to seeing smoker again also but i have a feeling that he wont be back until after fishmen island arc is over . That could be a whole year or two form now.

Yeah you are right. I went back and looked at the length of the previous arcs and if he follows recent history we got like 2 or three more arcs in this saga. The fishmen island arc isn't going to be over for at least two years. Which means it's going to be at least 3 years until we see the new world because there is always an arc after they beat the main bad guy which introduces the next arc.

he's done it for 12 yrs now no reason why he won't considering the best manga is still yet to come. bring on the new world!
