It would be safe to assume that most religious debates are formed due differing views on the presence of a god, and from the views on there being a god the qualities god or a god would have. So this really isn't a debate; it is more of a conversation on the qualities a god or god would have. The discussion of this would hopefully bring about a valid and presentable question about the origin of god or the idea of god in human civilization. Though the views expressed will be clouded by environmental factors, that statement within itself suggests that I hold some views to be of higher clarity than others, thus me judging along the lines of a hierarchal structure that I hold within me. So...is that innate or is it the product of a blank mind being exposed to stimuli? Anywho... What is god to you? |

humans have an inquisitive mind , which always pushes us to attempt to understand world around us . I think religion was one the first human attempts to understand how world around us works , it was early science if you like. It included observation and interpretation based on the individual understanding . as for the God , well as when i was a child I was more influence by Satanism and Pagan believes rather then by what Bible had to teach . |

To Dauragon13, Does Allah lack anything in his constitution? Is he perfectly complete? If So, explain the idea of creation and Allah's desire to create, what compelled him to create? This goes for all creation based ideas that are of like "Supreme being created the universe". What was said supreme being's motives for creation. ------ To Peschy, Though where did the idea of a supreme being originate, who had an idea that "Oh...god made that happen". Who was the first person to put forward that notion. I think that question will forever remain unanswered. Though there is an answer it is just unreachable. Also since you said that religion was the first science when do you think the theory of god will be done away with in favor of another all encompassing theory, or do you think that this has already occurred. |

religion evolved over the years changing , first religions weren't monotheistic . And idea of supreme all mighty being never existed until we got to polytheism . Like all things in culture religion represents us , as our societies grew, the warlords who ruled looked for a way to fortify their current position by claiming their right to rule from the divine authority (divine right) . Later on as religion progressed from monotheisms and "Mother Earth" was replaced with Patriarchal figure , who would either have power to give life or control this power of the goddess . And considering that warlord couldn't been seen as a weak, imperfect figure he would figure that it would be good idea to make his divine support almighty . Compare for example old Norse and Greek believes compared to Cristianity and Islam , differences are obvious . Don't care for religions so obviously I'd rather have superstition crashed under iron trunks of Science , which I believe to be supreme ideology. |

To me God is the one who created the heavens and earth as written in book of Genesis. I remember Jesus saying the word of God is so simple a child can understand its words and teaching. This thread doesn't seems to be that case though. You try to make it seem so complicated.

Why can't we see that the God of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam is the same God? Personally I don't see a difference between the three, and if you don't agree with me, so be it. However, research it.

^U keep saying that in almost every religion-oriented debate thread. Simply saying that meaningless phrase doesn't prove ur point whatsoever. Elaborate.
