Yeah, Redman is alright, but I heard that Ryan was really impressing people at Falcons camp and that's why I thought they would name him as the starter.

i still think that the bills are the second best team in the division. on paper, favre makes the jets better. on the field, i'm not sure what his impact will be actually be on the win column. he has to get into camp and learn the system. he probably also has to get back into game shape. then he has to start trying to develop chemistry with his receivers. on top of all of that, he's old. what happens if he gets all of that other stuff, but last year was an aberration and his performance on the field is more like what we saw in 2006? the bills were a decent team last year and made moves to improve their team in the off-season. until the season starts, and the jets start to wow people, i'll continue to think that the jets are still the 3rd team in the division.

ESPN.com's John Clayton reported Westbrook's revised contract will pay him at least $21 million over the next three years, according to a source.

Westbrook, 28, was in the third year of a $25 million, five-year contract he signed in 2005. He was scheduled to earn $3 million this season with a roster bonus of $1.5 million. Instead, the new 52-page contract gives Westbrook a $10 million raise over the next three seasons with $13 million guaranteed over the next two years, the source said.
The player Reggie Bush wishes he was got a pay raise. Got for Westbrook. He is the most important player on the Eagles. Its good when a team takes care of those players.

Westbrook is immense, he plays his socks off for Philly and is such a threat on offense. Well deserved new contract for him!

that's hilarious. "the player reggie bush wishes he was..." westbrook is the truth. reggie, not so much. reggie is no westbrook, and probably never will be. i'm still not sure if bush will ever even reach kevin faulk status.

One day after his release from New York, he found what looks to be a starting job with the Miami Dolphins. Pennington, 32, agreed Friday night to a two-year, $11.5 million contract that pretty well locks him into starting, according to a source. Contacted by six teams on Thursday, Pennington wasted no time reuniting with the person who brought him into the NFL as a first-round pick of the Jets, Bill Parcells.
The Tuna has his QB for now.

and on top of that, pennington seems like a very good qb for the younger qbs to learn from. he has always had that great reputation of being a smart player who knows what he is doing and doesnt really make mistakes. if the younger players learn from him and can emulate that, parcells should be aight at the qb spot going forward.

Also, Tuna was the one who drafted CP10. Pennington is a smart player without the physical tools.

well, he's accurate...it's a shame though really. if he actually had an arm, he would have been one of the better quarterbacks in the league in the past 10 years or so

^Agreed. His leadership qualities are superb. He was just getting a raw deal with Mangini. That system needs someone with an arm.

Rodgers made a good recovery after a shaky start and I dunno what league average counts for at this point or what it even means, it's the preseason yet.

Well Rodgers against the 49ers won't be a lot better to judge him then but it's not about that right now. It's just about getting out there and showing that he can run this team and that even if he does make mistakes he won't bottle it under pressure.

P.S @ Clay: after that abysmal defense that the Steelers (against the Bills no less) played I hope you realize that they're not good enough to beat the Browns.

i agree 100% on that. the bills arent a bad team at all. also, whether or not they do end up having a terrible season, the results in pre-season dont really mean much.

^better to get those penalties outta the system before the real deal I say =P

by the way, I'm not a Browns fans, I have no real feeling for any team in that division, but something just tells me they'll win it.
