Today it begins... I'll be editing the results and standings. to my starting message. I'll also maybe write about how the matches were played. (Those that I'll be able to watch). edit: OMG, Arsenal have Nasri I didn't know that. He is awesome! edit2: What do you think should I write these kind of reports in following weekends or am I just wasting my time?

It's a good effort dude, go for it if you are up for it, I usually comment on some games too. Chelsea 2-0 up against Portsmouth. Cole and Anelka scoring.

OK... I've calmed down a bit.. I'm still fairly pissed at the team. They seem to be stuck at the same point they left at the end of last season. City still can't attack consistently though they have quality like Petrov and Elano. Though in their defense I have to say that they did lose Bojinov just before the game started. With Benjani out and Jô @ the Olympics it was bound to be a disaster for Hughes. City did score twice, but they didn't deserve neither of the goals. One was caused by an error of the ref and the other Villa's sloppy playing. And then there is the Defense. They coped at times fairly well. Not counting set pieces and crosses. The back four needs Dunnie in Ben Haims place. He can lead them. Richards clearly not ready yet for the job. Ben-Haim was crappy shopping from the club IMO. Phil Dowd... That ref should hanged by the balls. Knocking Elano down when he was about to volley. Giving the penalty kick to City when the Villa player didn't even foul Johnson. Countless other small errors. A size Sweden thumbs down for this guy. ![]() Do I see anything positive in this? It's hard to find anything, but Petrov & Elano played together well at times. And City did attack well untill it was time to score. Ireland and Sturridge were good subs. Sturridge should have started in place of Evans when Bojinov injured himself. These were my views of the Aston Villa - Man City game. The only thing that gives me comfort is that ManU drew with Newcastle. I'll edit the standings tommorrow..

I somewhat happy at Arsenal's 1-0 but the score line signifies the work the have ahead of them. Can't belived Nasri scored. I originally picked him on my fantasy team but left him out :( here are the standing so far Quote:

Great opening day to the season, chelsea played fantastic, was especially nice to see deco playing well hopefully he continues to play like that throughout the season. May have underestimated hull city a little bit, they dug and managed to get a win. looking forward to next week, if my fantasy team gets over 50 points again I will be a very happy man =)

Sorry that my updates were a bit late, but now you can view them in the first post of this thread. So, not an easy game coming for Man City against West Ham. Especially since Dean Ashton started strongly at West Ham's attack last round. I heard he has had some issues with his health. I'd also like to state that I won't be able to write a review of any game this weekend. Since I'll be celebrating my friends engagement.

Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Hull City Liverpool 2-1 Middlesbrough Newcastle United 1-0 Bolton Wanderers Stoke City 3-2 Aston Villa Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Sunderland West Bromwich Albion 1-2 Everton Fulham 1-0 Arsenal Wigan Athletic 0-1 Chelsea Manchester City 3-0 West Ham United Unied have got Pompy tonight in a must win game, after this we have Liverpool and Chelsea away too so a result is needed. Both Liverpool and Chelsea scraped wins this weekend which was annoying cos both could easily have dropped points in their games which would have made our opening day draw more bearable, at least Arsenal lost at Fulham. Not got a great feeling about the game tonight though, we've still got a lot of players missing and Pompy are always hard to beat at home, hopefully the addition of Tevez will give us the boost we need up front to sneek it but it could be a crap start to the season for us if we drop more points.

First post has now been updated. I'm trying to keep up as much as I can with the stats and fixtures since I have my studies and all. Thank you for SilentSneeze for posting some results. Citizens had a great game. 3-0 speeks for itself. Sturridge and Ireland very impressive and Elano has started the season well of course. City lives and dies with Elano so I hope he can keep this up. Micah gave me a scare. I'm glad it wasn't as serious as I thought. Still not liking Ben-Haim. I hope he'll start to fit in.

City were helped by Noble's sending off but yeah good bounce back win for them... Deco scored a sublime goal to make it 2 out of 2. United go into the Portsmouth game needing a bit of a kickstart performance let's hope Tevez can do something to improve our form in front of goal.

I feel ManU needs a win from Pompey. I know the season is young, but it's more like a mental thing. Being able to win.

1-0 nothing impressive but United got the job done imo. I won't say much about the performance because frankly there isn't much to say. Evra was one of the few bright sparks and luckily for United Pompey never really threatened in the match.

This is in my opinion news worthy of a double post. Quote:
Man City want Ronaldo | The Sun |Sport|Football Ronaldo has also been linked to City, but I don't think he will pass the fitness test since he has been gaining some weight. City doesn't need another striker. ManU were beaten at the Super Cup final by Zenit from Russia 2-1. Scholes got two yellows and was sent off. Also I've edited my first post so that you can see the fixtures that will be played this weekend. BTW have any of you guys been tending your fantasy teams?

Today has been an okay day for my fantasy team so far, lets hope it continues tomorrow. United losing the Super Cup isn't really a big deal imo Zenit played well and deserved to win though. The big problem is that we definitely need a striker and there's no time left.

I've edited the standings and fixtures to my first post in this thread. I followed Tottenham vs. Chelsea and wrote something about it. Quote:
