The las test chapter 681 was bad ass. I love how unique the fight with cc is, even if he is getting his ass kicked a fight between a gas lagia and fluffy just looks cool

It's a bit boring at the moment, but it's because it's setting up for the escape, so I can't be mad. I've always liked Law, so I'm glad he's become so important.

You really thought the last chapter was boring? The two before it were slow but in was very impressed with 681. Even though this arc has its slow moment I've been very happy with it over all and I'm really looking forward to how its setting up the upcoming fight between fluffy and don Flamingo. Who IMO is one of the best pirates in one piece even tho u don't see him much.
actually there a very small list of stuff i dont like in this arc. (brownbeard yetti cool brothers smilie), but there are some many things that i do like that if i said them all then i be calling out the whole arc.
im very interested in monet and like to see here developed more. i hate saying some one should be a strawhat but im looking forward to what they do with there. however i dont like the fire swords man guy.
find the arc to be very suspenseful and interesting with a few boring chapter here and there but important none the less. to me its got a perfect balance going on.

The problem with One Piece recently is that too little is happening in each chapter compared to the past. It's almost DBZ-style in how dragged out things are becoming. By all means, I'm enjoying the present story, I just think it's dragging out very slowly.
I'm not too interested in Doflamingo, to be honest, though. I'm more interested in his history with Crocodile than anything, which was implied back at Marineford. Law is my genuine interest in the present arc. I also really want to see Aokiji.

law is very interesting indeed but im just not to interested in him i guess. my favorite things about him this arc for me has been seeing his reaction to how luffy treats his crew. almost cringing at how much luffy cares about what his crew wants. its a great contrast to how a normal pirate would be. as for the pacin, the problem is that there are so many things that have been goijg on that you have to give time to each one. however the only chapters that seem really slow to me were 680 & 679 the rest felt nessary or jam packed.

Maybe they're jamming so much into some of the chapters that it makes it seem slow to me, if that makes sense. If you only have a page or two to develop a particular aspect of the story, you have to draw it out into so many chapters before you really start nearing any sort of conclusion. I guess in retrospect that is what's happening, you're right.
Not so much that things aren't moving, but that so much is moving at once that individually the story itself seems slow.

yup thats whats happening. one piece has been happening like that in the manga since water 7 but as a whole a lot of stuff is happening every week just tons of small thing form every character. i think oda trying to find the right balance but just hasnt reached it yet. the war ark suffered form this greatly but when you read it as a whole it doesnt feel like that at all.
also what your were saying about croc and doF .. i wonder if croc will be apart of the next arc

They make up for it pretty well in the anime, it seems, but yeah it seems like the balance isn't working out so well at the moment. It's harder at the moment because of how many new characters were just introduced in one fell swoop, when we aren't even really up to speed on the Straw Hat Crew's progress yet, either.

yeah, but believe it or not i like getting a little of every thing then wondering wtf is happening with another character. i remember in enies lobby always saying where the fuck is the luffy lucci fight. for a really long time we didnt get any of that. the anime recently has been doing one chapter per episode but i wish they just stop right now and redo the whole anime to make it work better for anime and story sake and to update the older episodes

Naturally I still follow One Piece as well, it's my favourite ongoing manga, Bleach for example is trash and Naruto is still enjoyably but not at the same caliber as One Piece.
Looking forward to seeing that Buggy is a Shichibukai.

Never stopped reading since 2004 (end of Skypiea arc). Chapter 685 was really good! Guess Luffy may get a ninth nakama soon...
