I hear you. I was a bit surprised to find how lackluster the evidence for most modalities we use is. I think I want to work inpatient in hospitals, I'm not a huge fan of outpatient clinics so far.

EBP is HUGE over here. It's all we talk about. And my school is known for doing a good albeit annoying job teaching documentation skills. I get points docked off if all my goals aren't measureable and quantifiable/able to be duplicated by anyone reading it.

As for the CTS, I determined that it was most likely due to the colles fracture, which was creating pressure with inflammation/edema in the wrist. H20 displacement test was positive, so I just incorporated nonthermal modalities and basic rehab (strenghtening, would healing etc) exercises and balance training. A guy in my class put in parrafin for his treatment, but I figure that inducing an inflammatory response is probably not a good idea in someone with this type of CTS.

Documentation is tedious isn't it? I'm writing a case for a fictional Colles Fracture and CTS and it's taking forever. Balance training needs to be in the HEP. Stupid APTA makes me look up practice patterns too. I bet Australia is better about that sort of thing.
